The thought of eating them is so gross to me. It's just weird. Took me many years before I would try cow's tongue but I did. One day I may try some socks knocked of feet.
Be sure to pay attention to see if each bird actually eats added calicum on the side. Some birds will not.
Dog crates work great for brooders but beware chicks can fit right through the wire. Covering it with hardware cloth is a good idea.
