Like the watering set up, but the thought of raising 15 ducklings in the house makes me shudder. Ducklings look as if they arrived in great condition. Most ducks go through a 'terrified' period in their teen aged spell.

I think the white layers have reached the »terrified« period by now. My assumption is that the feathers are causing some discomfort when they break through the skin. Sometimes the ducklings sit calm and sleepy then squeak, jump up and run through the brooder without any obvious reason. They also dislike to be touched and picked up.

Thanks for reading the article. For many I expect this type of nest isn't practicable but I found it interesting to observe what the hens preferred given a choice.
