Some good info for those considering chickens. It gives enough so that people can investigate further if they realty want to take the plunge and raise our fluffy friends.

Agree with all of it. I probably spend a good 4-5 hours total per day with mine. Since I'm an empty nester now and I don't work outside of the home, it's my full time gig and I really enjoy it.

This is immensely helpful and reassuring as I'm currently going through my first flock integration with new pullets. I learned some great tips. I've been really spending a lot of time just observing from a distance to learn chicken behavior and that helps me not get stressed. 😄
Thanks for the info. My girls are not happy unless they can go and graze through the yard everyday.

So much good info on all aspects of grass eating and chickens. Mine go out daily in a confined area just for them. I watch them and they do pick and choose. It's a mixture of many types of weeds/grasses and I know that some isn't tasty for them. I use my weed eater to keep it at a good level but I will rake that up now.

I'm going to start this. The store bought are way to expensive and I have no idea what they eat and what in turn the hens eat. Thanks for the info!

Excellent resource. I will be getting some babies during November and this was very helpful. I've read bad things about the plates but they never said you need to use it indoors for proper use. Makes sense and I will only have 5 chicks so it should work fine

I gave this average because it has great potential. I get that the hens are young and not ready to lay so no nesting boxes yet. More detail on construction but much is self explanatory. It dies need More predator proofing. Thanks for sharing!

I love how it was repurposed. The shelter underneath is really clever as well. Keeping it low maintenance on the inside is definitely ideal and I love the poop hammock. Trying to figure out how to do that in my giant coop!
