I just haven't done fermented food, The younger hens seem to be ok, it's just the old EE that lays really soft or no shell eggs. Can overfeeding calcium by adding it in for the others cause them any harm...
I've been saving egg shells to feed back to my hens because they won't eat oyster shells.
How small should I crush them? So far they are not showing any interest in egg shell either.
I have at least one sometimes two that are laying thin or broken eggs

Keep an eye on the heat and humidity, The hen should keep humidity right, but about two years ago, I had shrink wrapped chicks because it was so hot and dry.... Last time I transferred the broody to a dog crate inside the house.... It was much better.
If she's perky that's a good sign, If you tilted her too far forward that could cause her to "throw-up" (not good, they can aspirate) If you need more help read the thread I suggested above, it helped me with my hen with water belly, ascites.
