Penny was literally transformed overnight. I am out there with them every day, so I noticed right away that there were suddenly long dark tail feathers that were not there previously. Has someone beamed my little red hen away and left an imposter, or is this a case of "Call me Caitlyn"?
A few weeks ago I added 6 young Buff Orps to my existing flock of adult Buffs Orps. In the last 4 days I have collected 2 tiny eggs along with the usual eggs. The younger girls are only 14 weeks old. Has anyone heard of a Buff Orp laying so early?
So I fell prey to the temptation of the TSC display. I now have two 3-week-old yellow ducklings. I have no clue of gender or breed as they were labeled "Assorted" & Unsexed. In the last couple of days, one has started making a quack-ish noise in addition to the peeping while the other only...

At first it was mainly for the eggs (and the additional dinner). After a short time I was fascinated and hooked. I love my Orps. Can't wait to have Lavenders, Cuckoos, and Chocolates! :) (and Jubilees and Whites and Partridge and...)

Gertrude update:
As of last night (I was too darn tired to get online and type when I got inside) all the chickens except two have taken to the new roosting poles. Miss Gertrude Grumpy-feathers seems to be on strike, sitting at her "bouncer" spot in the door and sleeping there as well...
