    American serama thread!

Hey Sheila...I too am from PNW. I have just started my serama breeding groups. It really takes longer than a couple weeks. I am actually keeping everyone until next spring - other than the obvious DQs. They need to grow out to see how they will develop. I sure love the seramas.

    American serama thread!

Hey Froggie: I will try to post a photo of the brat. I have been throwing her outside during the day to do some "free ranging" when no one else is out or it is just babies out - ones she can bully. There have been times we have gone out, she comes running and informs us that it is just too warm...

    American serama thread!

Well I am some 300 posts behind. there is NO WAY to get caught up. Sorry. Hi Froggie: See you are on here. Bumble is still a horrible spoiled rotten brat. She is worse than my 4 ankle biters (dogs). Okay, I have some 40 serama babies (all different ages) that I need to pick from to narrow...

    American serama thread!

My recommendation - handle the bird as much as possible. When you feel it is very calm and used to being touched, handled, manipulated...let your daughter begin to touch him. I don't remember the age requirements, but let her do what she is comfortable with. Teach her parts and colors and her...

    American serama thread!

You will get lots of good information on here regarding seramas... You have to get them "climatized" to standing and handling. The "pose" You will see as very young chicks (in really nice ones). But whenever I have tried to get a photo of ones I don't handle much or they are standing on...

Okay, for some reason I am having trouble when I try to quote someone else's comment. Thank you all for the positive feed back on the "coop". Can't take the credit. Had a friend come and build it...I just helped and learned. I have some more "individual" size coops I need to build for my...

Well, I apologize. I have not been on in ages. Busy with kids, work, etc.....I have my plans drawn up for my Serama House I will be building this summer (I want it NOW!!!). I will pop in from time to time to see how all are doing. I talk with many of you on FB now too. My Serama family is...

    American serama thread!

Smooth mule: You commented on this person's birds. I was just curious. I have a young cockerel with the same kind of eyes. Do you see how there is more white showing. They are not full and black eyes like most of my birds. Kind of looked weird to me at first. He is a pretty nice looking bird...

    American serama thread!

Seramas are people birds - the more they are handled the friendlier they are. If you look back a few pages you will find the "chicken sling" my daughter made for one of our birds - Bumble. Bumble just adores my daughter and wants to be everywhere with her. So many people on here are breeders for...
