It is suppost to snow tonight ALOT in Chicago, very cold. I added a tarp to the run and a water heater to keep the water from freezing. did that two weeks ago ahead of time. I also just added a game cam to keep an eye on the chickens. I am planning to see how they react to the snow tonight and...
yeah ik the chickens will probably start roosting on the chandeliers and the next day you see glass broken all over the floor with injured hens and chickens. I'm sorry but chickens aren't THAT smart and luxurious
I also have 2 chickens, first winter with them, and I live in Chicago. I have a raised coop so the ground wouldn't be so cold on them. The coop itself is good for winter because its tight, which gives them more heat in the shelter area (where they sleep, lay eggs, hide,). I hope someone with...
A brooder would help. Put chicks in brooder and store them in garage or shed and when the are mature enough advance them to a bigger coop with bigger chickens. correct me if I am missing something here...

Just naught a new bigger, better coop yesterday... It's expected to be here in 2 to 3 weeks around that. I have 2 chickens and I wanted to know if I should some light like Christmas lights or something like that in their run. I don't want to get heat off of it thoug... Any suggestions?
