Nicole--- If you send me your email addy, I'll forward you the newsletter. There's also great articles by Craig Russel & our own TOLchick, Jen!
The Preservation Project is indeed Noah's brainchild. BTW -- He got a President's Education Award last week!

I think Ed Hart in IL has cuckoo. But you'll want to call him and find out if he ships eggs in the fall. He also has RC colored, but I believe availability is rather limited.
Ed has White & Colored. The White pen has thrown a few sport cuckoos this year.

Welcome to the "dorking obsessed" club! Love to see that I am not the ONLY ONE who sits on the floor of her (his) coop!
Your girls are lovely :-)
Very pretty! Aren't Dorkings the BEST???
Jen -- Noah sits on the floor too...LOL. I keep a little stool out there so I can sit too...
I emailed Ed Hart yesterday to confirm that I'm not suffering from wishful thinking. He confirmed that one of the chicks I hatched from his eggs this spring is indeed a Cuckoo Dorking!!!!! Now, if I could just find a way to get the sports he hatched!
The only time I've seen Dorkings with droopy wings is when they don't feel well -- like coccidia. But then they just look generally unwell. The chicks in the pic look fine other than the droopiness. One of my peachicks holds her wings like that sometimes, but seems otherwise healthy.
One of my girls flies to the top of the 6 foot fence panels to let herself out... so I'd say they fly very well! Their nesting box is a community style box right on the floor in case someone decides to go broody.
Unfortunately, there's not. At least not yet! I was recently appointed VP of the official Dorking Breeders Club. My main goal is preservation. One of the ways I intend to help save the Dorking is by making a comprehensive breeders list available.
Are you looking for a particular color or line...

I'm glad to hear that, because I did a desperate thing and ordered some from them just in case... 2 boys and 3 girls are in the growout pen... toes are iffy, but coloring looks ok so far. They're sweeties... that little chick Shelley, looks like a girl to me... Jen, Renee, what do...

It is one of the sweetest deals. They love it cause they get birds cheap and I love it cause I don't have to raise them but get to pick only the best. BTW, what do you do with 3200 chicks????
I was wondering that too!..
Holy moly, Dave & Tori!!!!!!
I thought I was bad!

Geez.... I wish I only had 70! I'm thinking about asking TSC if I can bring them in this weekend to sell them!
I'm selling off pet quality chicks, growing out Dorkings, taking others to sell at a show the first week in June. Hopefully, that'll lighten my load a bit! Feed is getting...

Darling Ms. Tigerlilly!
That little buffy striped one on the bottom of the picture is a Tawny! Looks just like my lovies :-) Congrats!
Cool! Since I got so few from the Colored eggs, I'm going to concentrate on Red, SG & White. Then eventually Cuckoo, too. I'm done hatching for...

I am new to Dorkings (hatching our 1st this week), but in my experience RIR are usually meaner than other breeds. We breed Dominiques and our roosters are generally docile, unless you mess with their girls (but it is their job to protect them, so that is understandable). Hope this...

12 Eggs will be dropped off at the PO at lunch today - got swamped with work on Friday, and we were out of town over the weekend...
I'm SO sorry for your loss!
Maybe you are supposed to become a master breeder of FANTASTIC silver greys!?!
You are so sweet! I wish I could've done...
