PolePole - If you can't find bantam pullets nearby, I discovered by accident that Cackle Hatchery now sells pullets in select bantam breeds. They're pricey, but if you only want or can only have pullets, it may be an option. http://www.cacklehatchery.com/bantam.html#sexable

Makes me wish I did have bantams but I'm maxed on pen space and don't dare add anything new....especially bachelor roosters! :-> I hope you find this guy a really good home. Hmm....buttercup and WFBS....no telling! It might be interesting to find out.
I'm here too. That's a nice looking cockerel but my WFBS flock is standard/large fowl. Have you tried posting him in the BST forum or if you're giving him away, in the Animals in Need of Free Re-homing thread?
Hi ChicKat, My husband or I will be at the Klein show. What we're showing is yet to be determined. Every bird we have is a molted mess right now!! The BVPC show (Bluebonnet Classic) is on Jan 10th 2015.
Wow! Very nice Blue Andalusian rooster. I wondered what Sandhill's stock would be like but I can never seem to "get it together" to place an order with them early enough to have chicks before summer and it's too hot here to raise chicks at that time. I'm nowhere near you, but good luck...
Sorry to hear about the Mille Fleurs. It looks like you have the chicks all cozied in now. For the travel fatigued barred rocks and buff, adding electrolytes to the water might help. If you don't have that, try a touch of sugar water. Sometimes that's enough punch to get the them up and...
I ordered from Meyer last July. All of the chicks survived the trip without incident. The chicks were fatter and more active out of the box than those I had received in the past from other hatcheries. Good luck with your new babies!
neopolitancrazy - Thanks for the tip! With over 350 birds in our flocks (various breeds, not all WFBS), I've had to dispense "treats" sparingly, but, now that I know giving it to them daily is okay, the WFBS are worth the extra goodies.
Murgatroyd - You asked for pics of birds from Ideal. My initial flock was Ideal stock. I don't have current pics. These were from March of this year when this group was not quite a year old (hence the pinker combs on the then-pullets). They're in molt right now, so I'll try to get some fresh...
Melissa Rose, So good to see you out here on BYC again. I just noticed some posts you put up on CL.
So, so sorry about all the health issues...and we've had our share of horrible neighbors too, but yours seem to take the prize in that category. You're in our thoughts and prayers. Take care...
We're reducing our cochin flocks in order to free up pens for newly added breeds. In addition, we're trying to sell off the last of the chicks from the spring hatching season. Actually, these are all very well started, from 6 to 22 weeks old. Cockerels are available in several breeds. I'm...
