Well, I've been offline for a long time guys. Sorry about that. I got hurt last fall and had to concentrate on getting my knee healed up. Then I ended up getting busy over the winter, and after that I gave up social media for lent. :) I just got to thinking that maybe POOPS was coming up and I...
Here's the first two babies. Two more eggs are peeping. One had pipped but got itself rolled out of the nest and froze to death. I brought them in the house.
Sorry! I don't know. I always watch it with my friend in England on the BBC iPlayer via a proxy server, because I can't stand the thought of spoilers. I saw it at noon. BUT IT'S REALLY GOOD! You'll enjoy it!
I candled the eggs my silkie's been setting. All five are fertile. MJ, that little roo I got from you guys is amazing! Middle of the winter and every single egg was fertile. And that was after I'd pulled him out for a week to go into his show cage! Whoo hoo!
I have one on eggs too. I'm hoping like anything that some of them are fertile. I don't know how I'll break her otherwise, or if I'll have to get her some babies.
MJ: Fred Farthing of Missouri went home with all the marbles. His buff orpington took the English class and Grand show champion, as well as him cleaning all our clocks in the Dominiques both large fowl and bantams. :)
New bantam Dominique trio I bought from Fred Farthing of MO.
Pretty silkie hen I bought from BetsyOK at the show.
I took four birds, sold a trio and brought home five birds. That's the way it's supposed to work, right?
Dominique pullet, third place.
Dominique cockerel, third place.
Bantam Cochin cock, first cock, best variety. (Don't tell my 5 yo that he was the only one in the buff variety!)
Dominique cockerel, first place, Reserve of Breed, Youth Division. I didn't show this bird, but I bred him.
JCat: Glad you came through surgery okay.
Greybear: Sorry to hear you had to get rid of your pigeons.
Poco: Glad the little babe is doing better.
Don't remember who said they had to have another back surgery, but I hope that goes well. kinda scary.
