Well it turns out that some of my ducklings are pure blood of pekin. I noticed that a couple of them have pure orange bills and the other 2 have pinkish bills. Could one be male and the other female?
I really hope it is as easy as that...

My khaki campbell has finally starting laying sunday last week after 8 months. this is a picture of Hayley's first egg which she laid in the muddy ground of which explains the funny colouring around the egg. She started with a large egg and has been laying everyday since!!!

Just thought I would just share a pic of my gold laced wyandotte that doesn't quite make the grade. She has deformed feet from low humidity at hatching, no lacing and a straight comb...but I still think she is beautiful. SHe was hatched out mid october so that would make her 6 months old. When...

Are brown leghorns noisy when they start laying or do they even stop cackling all morning? I have white leghorn/orpington crosses and they are noisy when they are laying and I have just sold them as I am in town. I still have two brown leghorns that are 3months old and at the moment quite still.
I have a pair of bobwhite quail and have been watching them The male is very gentle and sometimes even caresses her with affection. Very interesting to watch.
The question is can I have more than one female to a male in a breeding pen?
