    newbie question..difference between Cornish Rocks and Cornish X's???

    The hatchery closest to me only sells Cornish Rocks for meaties.....however I see most posts on here are about Cornish X's. Is there a difference? Should i buy from another hatchery in order to get the X's or am I doing ok with the Rocks?

    I have 6, I want 4-6 more. The ones I want to get are the same age as my girls are now. Will the pecking order be established 'nicely'? How long do I need to keep them separated at first? Any suggestions?

    Ants!?!?

    my girls just reached laying age. Today I noticed an abundance of fire ants in their coop and run. So I freaked and moved the coop and run of course. I know fire ants can and will kill a kitten, puppy and baby chicks,,,,,,,,however, do I need to be worried about them getting to my older girls?
