    Watering Nipples - How High?

It's worked out really well and I've had no trouble with it since hooking it up. I'm very happy with it. One day I may even hook up a low pressure regulator to it and eliminate the bucket. For now though, all is great. :)

Here's our first egg from a little over a month ago. Our little girl was very happy her pet chickens were laying eggs. :D All five of our girls are now laying now.

I think that is an awesome idea and that's what I'm gonna do. I swear I nearly lose it every time she asks me when her friend Fuzzy Butt is coming home. Thank you so much for the idea. I think she'll eventually figure it out, when she's a little older, but I'm hoping she'll understand. I'm not...

Over the holiday break our dog managed to get under the fence and into the run. Thankfully all the neighborhood kids love our chickens as much as we do. They came running, banging on the door, to let us know our Sally Dog was now Sally Dog the Killer. Fortunately we only lost one of our six and...

Kid's Playhouse Coop Conversion This all started as a casual conversion with friends about a year back. We recently brought the subject up again and turns out their chickens are doing very well and are providing them with more eggs then they know what to do with! The more I thought about it...

    Watering Nipples.

Like wyododge said, they do drip a bit. I put a scrap piece of 2x4 underneath to soak up the drips. Works great and keeps my shavings dry.

Post pic of your nipple waterers!

I ordered mine online as well. I got 10 for under $10 from this guy. Here's my setup. It's been hooked up and running for a couple months now with no problems. All these photos were taken before the girls were moved in. They took right to the nipples and it's made watering them super...

Added a sand box today and they are eating it

I have an old cat litter box that would be great as a dust bath so I'm totally stealing this idea. Do you put just play sand inside for that?

    My Christmas Chicken Beanie!

So most of my friends and family now know I've gotten a bit obsessed with my chickens. I think they think it's a bit weird but I'm okay with that. Especially when they give me cool stuff like this to embarrass my son by actually wearing! Chicken hat by Quietly Scheming, on Flickr My...

    Chicks Moved to the Coop!

Quote: They're actually just over 4 weeks old so I'm not quite comfortable with taking away the heat bulb just yet since they aren't fully feathered up. I do plan on taking it away eventually but I think I'll give it a few more weeks with the temps getting down to the 30's. Quote: Thanks...

I was thinking of using fluorescent bulbs but this is a great alternative that I didn't occur to me. Thanks.
