I'll attach a picture. I think one has bumblefoot but she isnt acting different or walking funny but I did notice it looks swollen and black in the center on the bottom of her foot. Then I have 2 with these bumps on their feet, sorta between the toes. One has them between all toes and this one...

    Problem flying chickens

My little flock of 5 Easter eggers are becoming trouble. I had a visit from my neighbor today that they went over to his house and dug up the flower bed and all the mulch. He understood they are just being chickens but I have to stop their wandering. I found them 2 yards over before. We live on...

    Goats

I'm looking into getting 2-3 goats. We live in south Texas, it's November and it's still pretty hot outside, not even a nice cool 80 or so. What would be the best shelter? We will be using the goats for milk. Also what's the easiest fencing to put up? Thinking the Nigerian dwarf or mini nubians...

Pretty sure a chicken was attacked.

They have their own enclosed area to keep our big dogs away but I think a cat jumped the fence into their enclosure. I have an Easter egger cockrell about 4 months old that is now missing feathers all around his neck but no visible bite marks. He is just standing around and doesn't run off when...

    Chickens went on egg strike!!

I have (had) 3 laying hens. One astrolourp one RIR and one (what I think is) old English game hen. We moved and they seem to really like their new area. They were laying just fine and now the last few days I have only gotten 2 eggs and it was from my astrolourp. Usually my game hen laid 6 eggs a...

    Flies and ants!!

We just moved to a new home and the chickens are not allowed in the entire yard as before but we have a very large fenced in section of the yard for them. Anyway, flies are a huge problem. It's dry and I try to keep it clean by picking up the poop. Can I hang one of those stinky fly water bags...

    Help with ducks and chickens.

I have a young duck. No feathers yet who is bleeding in my house on his neck and head after the other chickens clearly beat her up. She's chirping and walking around fine eating and drinking. Should I worry? There's visible blood coming from some of the areas.

    Help with duck breed please

I just got this little guy/girl from our feed store. (The two yellow ones are silkie chickens) they didn't know what breed they where as they where Hatchery special. I was wondering if anyone might have any idea on a breed? She said for sure not Pekin as she already sold all of those. Any help...

    About nesting boxes

So I'm moving and no longer have a limit on how many hens I can have so I'm getting 4 more in about 2 weeks. I have 3 now. So with having 7 hens I will have a very large portion of my yard fenced in for them with their big coop inside to keep the dogs and neighborhood cats away. Anyway I...

    This chick here

So I've been told this is a buff orpington when I got her. I've had buffs before and they were fluffy with the typical (puffy butt) this one looks scrawny and not even close to the size or "puffiness" as my RIR or astrolourpe. My other buffs where smaller than my cuckoo maran so I expected her...

Do I need to bring them back in my house for the cooler weather or will they be ok? Maybe put the coop in my garage with...

Help me turn this playhouse into a coop!! *pics**

Ok so above is the playhouse that I'm turning into a chicken coop. As you can see there is one full wall the rest is open. My plan this far is to cover the opened areas with hardware cloth on the inside. The outside will have wood shutters. My hang up is the nesting box. I don't want to cut into...
