Punk00 - Thank you so much for your kind words. The nesting boxes are just under 12" squares, there's a total of 6, but the dominant hen keeps switching it up so they are squabbling about what boxes to use. The inside diameter of the coop is approximately 86"x86"x 100" just under 8ft square...

Thank you 21hens, it was to date the biggest project I've taken on, but worth the trouble now that the girls are in and clucking around.

You could rent it out as a getaway cabin, Funny you should say that... as we were building I said, if this chicken thing doesn't work out we can convert it to a tiny home

Hi, welcome to the site. I too suffer from chicken math, started with five, went up to 15 and lost a few due to them being roosters. Now we are at 9, with 3-5 eggs daily. Can't wait until the last few start laying more regularly. Its so exciting to have eggs in our own backyard!
