    So, I have two 6 week old ducks and two 1 1/2 month old ducks. 3 of them hang out together and usually stick together. But the other guy is a bit of a loner. He just keeps to himself. Is that normal? I thought ducks loved the company of other ducks

    That's what I thought. But when she was a duckling she was just a dark brown. Not a normal mallard duckling coloring. Maybe she's a mut. But oh well. I love her her anyway :D

    Well he/she looks like she might be a mallard female, because the feathers resemble that. But the ones I've seen don't have dark legs

    I'm glad I'm not the only one having identification problems. I was told that my brown duckling was a Cayuga. But now that it's feathers are growing in I don't think that's what it is anymore.     So I got a brooding lamp for my ducklings. They are about 3 weeks old and too big to be inside anymore. We are having a very moody spring this year, and would like to know if they would be safe if I were to have a brooding lamp in their outside coop.
