no. Dusty was a dark almost black duckling

That's what I thought. But when she was a duckling she was just a dark brown. Not a normal mallard duckling coloring. Maybe she's a mut. But oh well. I love her her anyway :D

What breed of duck is this? I'm assuming she's female by the way she looks. I'm just curious about her breed

Well he/she looks like she might be a mallard female, because the feathers resemble that. But the ones I've seen don't have dark legs

I'm glad I'm not the only one having identification problems. I was told that my brown duckling was a Cayuga. But now that it's feathers are growing in I don't think that's what it is anymore. (And yes I'm calling it an it cuz I don't know the gender yet) this is the best picture I have of it at...

So I got a brooding lamp for my ducklings. They are about 3 weeks old and too big to be inside anymore. We are having a very moody spring this year, and would like to know if they would be safe if I were to have a brooding lamp in their outside coop.
