Hi All, a few days ago I was looking to rehome my little Buff hen, but I couldn't stop crying. Now I am looking for a companion for her. I Am willing to drive or ship.
Ugh! Hi everyone. I have three female Buff Orpingtons. Two are ganging up on one. Persistent and vicious. She (Juniper) has been repeatedly jumping the outdoor fence and now I know why. I had to look for her for quite a while today and finally found her. She came right to me, I picked her up...
Hi All,
I have 3 Buffs all females, 2 are fine but 1 is molting more than the others. My concern is her rump is the only area where she has molted out and her bare skin is very red. Normal? or do I need to take action?
Ok, wasn't sure which forum topic to post this under so I did the best I could. So, what about their feet in the cold weather. It was just about 31 degrees Sat. morning and my girl was already standing on one foot at a time and remembered reading about a injured chicken where the owner wrapped...
Well, for some of us it is. We're generally not used to these temps (88° - 91°) at this time of year in WNY. Sorry, I'm one of the ones whining about it..only because of my worry for the welfare of my animals. So, that said, my three BOs have really neat digs: 25' x 25' with a 70% sun block...

My three new kids have arrived!! Three fourteen week-old Buff Orpingtons. Love them! They have a large "compound to roam in but are gonna go through the grass pretty quick. What the best to plant inside their area as well as outside their enclosure to keep them close to home?
Hi Folks,

Hi Folks! Uh, I'm not sure if they're changing where you are, but I'm in Western new York and the leaves are beginning to change already. I have read several stories and opinions on this subject already but I want to throw it out to my support group. Heat lamp or no?
Hi All, uh, I'm not sure what options I have with this situation. I am brand new to this and don't want to be dealing with chicks just yet. However, the three have been raised together and I don't want to separate him out if I don't have to. Question....um, not knowing for sure if an egg is...
Hi Folks!! I'm FHF ChickenMom,
I don't even have them yet, but am due to receive three Buff Orpingtons from a childhood friend who's daughter rescued the three from the "hatch chicks in the classroom" gig. They can't keep them because the live in "the city" which these days shouldn't matter...
