Wow!! I <3 their "Hale"--> Home it is just stunning!! They all look happy and healthy. The little roo's name should be.. "Bram"... well just a thought.. But it is totally up to you and what ever you decide to have as a name will be wonderful. I see chicks in the future.. when they get...
From what I can see the big orange one and the dark on are boys and the other 2 are female. They are showing the bright red combs already and they are definite boys in the making..:-) You also have beautiful birds..:-)

Aloha Everyone!! So I decided to revamp my groups by roatating, combineding, and Selling off my Game Hens. I really feel like it is a time to change and just keep large layers. But I have not gotten rid of all my Game Gals. I am gong to keep the unique pattern ones. I want to...

Alright on to the Chooks!! (Part1)
Where to start first?? I have been using a Camera Phone to get pictures. If you notice some pics are larger that was with my camera prior to it breaking. I have groups that I place all my chooks into. Some are slowly being integrated and placed as I figure...

Isolation and Habituation to the whole family deny him girls until he treats you all like his "HEN" that is the thing I would recommend... I have done it to 3 nuisance roos and if that doesn't work freezer.. FYI I had 7 of them so the success rate wasn't too good...:-( Then get another roo...
Yes I love her color with that hint of Salmon on her breast. She may have been the chick that gave you restless nights but she definitely is giving you the most joy. My hens are very similar to her grumpy and yet loveable. I hope she gives you eggs for a very long time and be careful if there...

Aloha!
WOW! She is gorgeous! I love her silver color and if you look on youtube there are such things as crowing hens.. It is so funny to see and the fact that I also had a couple of hens that crowed and others that just crow out of the moment it was quite a sight! But...
Aloha Everyone,
I have had that problem as well. I used "Mite spray" that I got from my local pet store. I used it on my broodies that just won't quit being broody. But it does work also they are not laying so I know it will be okay. But prior to that I used "Tobacco leaves" It is an Asian...
Aloha,
I am sorry to say that you have one hen and one roo. The one you were asking is definitely a roo. But you have a beautiful pair and I hope you keep them if not get a good replacement hen for the roo so she is not alone.
Aloha,
I have that problem too in the past when I raised chicks. If it is a first time mother hen (at least on my end) they are quite irresponsible with predators. I lost a lot of chicks. But the mama Hens would wise up. Some before the next chick was hunted. But for my hens it was trial...
Aloha,
I have feed fish to my chickens aswell. However, I give them a combination of food to go along with it. That way the fish doesn't make the eggs too "unique" (for the lack of words) when they lay. I guess you can say I give them mixed portions so the fish taste doesn't change the taste...

But if you all went to the Island of Kauai. You all would be in shock at how the...
