    Is her face pale?

Nahhhh doesnt look pale to me. It may not be as bright red as it normally is, but I find that many different factors can cause that - hormones, heat, stress. You *know* when their face goes pale due to an actual emergncy, it will be very light pink. If it gets pink then something is likely very...

    Hasn’t moved in two days

Where did you get her? Is she vaccinated? If you didnt get her from a feed store or you vaccinated yourself, then she could have Mareks or some other disease that paralyzes them. Does she look in pain to you? Does she peck at you when you try to touch her "broken" toe?

Is there anyway to tell if this is ocular Mareks or Coloboma?

I just got this chicken today. I didn’t notice her eye until AFTER I put her in the same garden with my flock. She is separated but I’m sooooo worried now. Hoping it’s just coloboma. Where I rescued her from was filthy and she was neglected. I have no information and cannot ask the owners...

    Impacted/sour crop?

Also! If you think the crop is heavy and uncomfortable for her, please consider getting her a “crop harness”. Kind of like a bra for a heavy crop. It helps them be more comfortable. You can order these on Amazon or Etsy.

    Impacted/sour crop?

The fact that she is pooping is a great sign. Does it look like she is having difficulty pooping? She needs plenty of fluids. So make sure she is drinking water. If she isn’t voluntarily drinking water then you need to give her water down her throat with a siringe. But if you do that you need...

Hen pulling out her own feathers??!

My chicken Blanche is a 2 year old GLW. I have been noticing in the past few days she's peen PULLING OUT HER OWN FEATHERS. I even saw her eat a few, I'm not sure it was intentional or not. One of her shoulders has a big bald spot. She is focusing on her shoulders and the side of her body. She's...

Hen has inflamed red spots and losing feathers? Help!

What would separating him do? Would it calm him down or something? I can definitely do that. I can also separate my hen for a while. Do you think that would work instead? thanks

Sick hen, paleness, lethargic and spot on tongue

I would seek veterinary care if I were you. There is also this website called “justanswer” and it gets you in contact with professionals of all different categories, including bird veterinarians. Through that website I’ve been able to chat with a vet and send them pictures and they recommend...

Yes I do have a rooster. And she runs from him every time he is near her. Do those look like markings from the rooster?

Hen has inflamed red spots and losing feathers? Help!

Hello! I’ve recently noticed one of my GLW (2 years old) has developed some bald spots. The skin in the area is really inflamed and red. She’s also been acting weird. She is separate from the rest of her flock most of the time and is very timid now. Also very skittish. She still has a good...

    Hen shakey...is she sick? Help!

Hi all- Two days ago one of my hens (Ri) fell into a small pond we have in the garden that the flock hangs out in. Its a small pond in a rubbermate tote (100 gal./65-68degrees). Sometimes the hens drink water from it and Ri must have fallen in bc we found her in the pond when we went to check on...

    Hen acting weird during recovery

Yep, shes on two forms of antibiotics and an anti-inflammatory. The weather here is excellent actually, maybe I can try that. UPDATE: she started eating again. She ate a bnch of her regular pellets and blueberries and apples and kale. So I think she must be feeling better.

Yes she’s been laying an egg successfully each day. I haven’t previously considered putting her outside. The vet said to keep her inside for two weeks.

HELP!!! Hen foot curled and struggling to walk!!

I would suggest getting it checked out by a vet. My local vet charges $50 to look over chickens, so it's not extremely expensive, it's worth it.

New Rooster might have respiratory issues? Help!

A little update/comment: He is infact a rooster! A very gorgeous and big one at that! He still sounds very raspy when he does make noises. So I think its just his voice. He doesnt use his voice often though, so my neighbors are happy about that. He doesnt do the cock-a-doodle-doo noises in the...
