I have a splash polish about 8 weeks old. Based on every picture I can find, he is a cockrel. This guy is being raised with 2 wyandottes and 2 sex links. He is either sleeping or eating. He lets the girls walk on him and lay on him. Right now the girls are trying to decide who is getting...

Fishing line wrapped around chicks leg

This is so embarrassing I am afraid to post. I have about 5 week old chicks in a rabbit hutch. I laid a piece of carpet in there so their little feet wouldn't fall through. One must have scratched at the carpet and loosened up a thread that looks like fishing line. The line was wrapped around...

What to do about Poo on the butt?

I have a silkie that has poo stuck to her butt, around the vent and feathers in that area. I have tried to trim the feathers, give her bath, but this is like a full time job. She doesnt perch at night, instead prefers to lay in the hay. So will she be ok, or do I keep giving her the spa...

Silkie with too much poo on her vent

My Silkie had a big thing of poo on her butt. I thought it would fall off, no it didnt. It looks like a dog's mangled hair. So I cut out as much as I could and soaked her in warm water. I was able to get more off. But the vent area looks a little raw so I was afraid to keep picking. Any other...

Silkie with too much poo on her vent

We noticed yesterday that our black silkie pullet had poo hanging off of her butt. I thought it would come off by itself. WRONG. Her butt looks like a mangled mess similar to a dog. I cut out what I could and soaked her in warm water and picked as much off as I could. Anything else to do? Her...
