White "gel" stuck on to my chicken's butt? Please help! Emergency!

Sorry to see your girl struggling. I would give her a little sugar water to help keep her strength up. I think you should see improvement today if the antibiotics are going to help, but be prepared that they may not... Hoping for the best.

White "gel" stuck on to my chicken's butt? Please help! Emergency!

Amtyl and Baytril are both broad-spectrum so would hopefully help with any infection she has, but looking at the dosage notes it seems you would have to syringe a lot of Amtyl down your girl's throat to get the right dose versus a very little amount for the Baytril, so based on just being able...

White "gel" stuck on to my chicken's butt? Please help! Emergency!

She is still looking better than I would expect, so that's something :) How much would you say she is eating and drinking day? Green poop and wobbling is probably because she isn't eating much. A little bit of crushed raw garlic in her food for a few days isn't a bad idea. It might help if she...

White "gel" stuck on to my chicken's butt? Please help! Emergency!

The green watery poop could either be from infection or simply not eating enough. You can order aqua mox or another antibiotic online, but it can take a few days to arrive and she may not have that kind of time. Finding aqua mox locally is her best chance I think.

White "gel" stuck on to my chicken's butt? Please help! Emergency!

Your dad is right that a lot of antibiotics are prescription only, but aqua mox is the antibiotic amoxicillin, doesn't require a prescription, and might be able to help your hen. Dosage is 57mg per pound. If you get some you can let us know which bottle you got (they come in different strengths)...

White "gel" stuck on to my chicken's butt? Please help! Emergency!

If she doesn't seem too weak/tired a warm bath might be good. Otherwise you can just wipe of her butt with a damp paper towel as best you can. Is she still eating/drinking? Did you manage to get any antibiotics today?

White "gel" stuck on to my chicken's butt? Please help! Emergency!

How's she doing today? The yolk and infection sort of go hand in hand. Infection is a life threatening issue, which you can hopefully treat with antibiotics, but if there is still egg material inside her it is a perfect medium for bacteria to grow in and will keep allowing infections to take...

White "gel" stuck on to my chicken's butt? Please help! Emergency!

72 should fine though you could see if she seems happier on a heating pad. It's hard to know whether it's the chocolate making her sick or the reproductive issue... At this point she could have infection setting in.

White "gel" stuck on to my chicken's butt? Please help! Emergency!

All chocolate is toxic to birds and dark chocolate has more of the toxins... Make sure she has plain water available to drink, but other than that I don't think there is anything you can do but wait. Hoping for the best.

White "gel" stuck on to my chicken's butt? Please help! Emergency!

It's normal for a crop to feel squishy during the day when they are drinking a lot of water. I'd guess she is drinking a lot because she still feels off from the broken egg, though sour crop or an infection can also cause thirst. To check for crop issues I remove food and water when they go to...

Maybe just a little frostbite then if you've had some freezing temps? Anyway, probably not the biggest concern at the moment... just wanted to be sure we weren't missing a problem :)

I did notice the tips of her comb look a little dark in the photos... Has is it been like that awhile or is that something new since yesterday?

White "gel" stuck on to my chicken's butt? Please help! Emergency!

All things considered she's looking good. If you soak the pellets in a little water they should get mushy which is sometimes more appealing to chickens. Also if you have plain yogurt you can mix a spoonful into her food and see if she likes that. I'd try getting back to plain water and food, but...

How's her vent looking, has she been pooping, and do you notice any swelling in her belly or around her vent?

Is that the plain water or sugar water? Chickens need a couple cups of water a day and I'd let her drink what she feels she needs. Do you have any pellet or crumble chicken food that you could make a wet mash with and see if wants that? She'll start getting weak soon if she doesn't eat.

If she is still mostly sitting puffed up with her eyes closed I'd let her rest. If she seems active/normal again you can let her out and monitor her.

It's good that she's still drinking. I'd leave a little bowl of plain water and some regular food (moistened crumbles/pellets is good) in front of her so she can eat and drink as she wants. If she doesn't seem to drink plain water you can keep offering a little sugar water a few times a day.

@Wyorp Rock Any ideas or thoughts on giving baking soda?

The egg material would be stuck in the oviduct which doesn't connect to the intestines until the very end. It is very hard for a hen to pass broken, sticky egg material rather than the intact egg.
