I am liking this weather (a bit dreary but the temps and no snow is great) but I’m now fearing my garden will suffer. These are daffodils starting to poke out! ☹️ I hope this colder temps this week stop their growth but doesn’t harm them.
Doing okay here. Ice ”chunks” (made by freezing water in yogurt cups) in the waters and tomato scraps are keeping the chickens hydrated. I’ll be happy to see the temps drop!
Mine didn’t bulb like in the past. I thought it was where I planted them (soil has a lot of clay). Maybe it wasn’t just the soil but some weird weather too.
Welcome @Ittybittyschmidtie ! :frow
I’m in Lee County and pass through McHenry County on my way to our daughter’s house in Antioch.
What kind of flock do you have?
It was a great day yesterday! I met @Molpet and got my onion plants. Today will be spent planting and blowing leaves from the rest of the flower beds. I know we are in for a dip on Sunday/Monday but I am hopeful!
Thanks @Molpet for that. We just got back up and running at 5:45 tonight so I haven’t had a chance to look. No power means no water for us. We are thankful for good neighbors that have generators so we had access to water for drinking (ours and animals) and flushing toilets. We have supplies for...
We were without power for about 46 hours. I don’t know if a tornado hit or if some type of wind sheer hit but there were about 30 utility poles snapped and lines down in four places between Amboy and Mendota.
Kudos to all the crews that got things going for us! :bow
Feel free to jump in any time!
I’m in NW IL so the earliest I’ve had chicks is the end of March. I have a chicken buddy that has raised them this early. She has a brooder set up in her garage. They go out to her coop when fully feathered. No electricity in her coop or they’d be out there from...
