Thanks @rjohns39.
I am considering downsizing some of the green and blue egg layers, but have made no decisions on which ones. So far behind that I may never catch up!
I always liked the Parks OG-50; now also known as Whoppers. Indeterminant and heat tolerant. When I was truck farming, I would plant a second time in July so, new plants kept coming on. Snow peas need to be in now. Used to use Big Bertha peppers. Banana peppers do well too.
Thanks for asking! I am going to put some in the incubator later this week. The ones hatching today all have homes. I will post on my FB page when I have chicks. Svart hona and gold Frisian hatching in 2 weeks. They are white and cream egg layers though.
Thanks Ravyncroft and Johns39!
I’m sure I probably have a few pullets I can part with. Also several cockerels. I mainly have green egg layers right now.
@rjohns39 how are your lucious organic turkeys doing? Did they all go to Thanksgiving tables or do you still have a few?@Ravynscroft , your...
I use fans in the heat of summer and let them free range as much as possible. I lost some to heat stress last summer in spite of ice in the water, cold treats and fans.
Welcome to Tennessee and BYC :welcome
Welcome! :ya
I've got a bunch of eggs that are fertile. What are you looking for? Rare breeds all the way to Barnyard mix. PM me if you are interested! I'm in Mt. Juliet.
I am OVER RUN with chicks! Yes, yes, and yes! A mess of silver ameraucana is a good way to put it. Also, a mess of Swedish Flower Hens and black ameraucana too! Some golden cuckoo marans, black copper marans, olive eggers, frisian gulls and isbar. This is getting ridiculous! Most of these guys...

Tuckers is different. They do have Tuckers non-GMO feed, but IDK about in starter. I bought the Tuckers 22% Super layer today. Once again a 'somewhat secret' handshake is involved. I am glad to meet you up there and help in any way I can. I have developed a working relationship with them...
I bought it today there. It should not be that difficult. Tim (the owner) and I have gone round and round about the "virtues" of medicated feed. Personally, I hate the stuff and do not EVER use it. My rare breeds do not do well on it. There are more people than me that buy non-medicated, cause...
I only buy the unmedicated chick starter. They ran out last week, but should have some now. I'm going to try out the non-GMO chick starter from the Smith Co. coop soon though. Give them a call before you come to make sure they have some.
