If you want to breed Sebastopols, you might want to look for some purebreds. You be much happier with the offspring you'll get. The goose you posted here doesn't look like a Seb except for a small amount of curly feathers...
x2 Definitely don't act afraid of them.
My mom has a phobia of feathery wings flapping (yes, really). We used to think it was hilarious as kids when she ran screaming down the hall with my grandma's parrot flying after her. Anyway, my geese totally had her number when she fed them while I...
Yes, true. I got the Baytril a year ago as a last ditch effort and haven't used it since. It is the most recommended for some illnesses. A lot of the broad spectrum aren't effective anymore.
I don't know that it is necessary true that using Baytril makes other antibiotics ineffective. I have...
I've purchased injectible Baytril from First State Vet Supply without an Rx and was very happy with both the product and their customer service.

Do you have to be careful when rehabbing starved geese? I know with some animals (like horses), you have to go about it carefully so you don't shock their system...
FYI ... I have a few Seb eggs for sale on the 24 hr Auction thread. I was going to put them in my incubator, but my sis-in-law...
It's a supplement used for horses. I've never heard of giving it to birds. It has a lot of iron in it (thus the name).

Mine look like this right now, too. Our wet winters are hard on their feathers.
I'm getting eggs now! I was expecting to see them in the morning, but she lays during the day. Is that typical of geese? My duck eggs are already laid when I go out in the morning. I stepped on my first Seb...
Be careful. What is "dry" for one person might be a completely different thing for another. It depends on where you live. In winter, the RH in my house is about 40%. In a drier area like So Cal, it would be much lower.
My Sebs from Jean are very nice, too. They hiss at the dogs, but never at me.
I hope so, too! This will be my first year trying to hatch goose eggs and I'm sure it will be a learning experience.
So cute! Jean, what time of the year do yours start laying? I think the pair I got from you should start around the same time here in Western WA, wouldn't you think?
I don't know anything about the geese genetics, BUT it seems like it would be possible. Brown eyes in humans are a dominate color, too, but it is possible for 2 brown-eyed parents to have a blue eyed child. It just depends on what recessive genes are lurking....
