You may have been picking the wrong Breeder to buy from. If you are going to go a certain direction, heading that direction from the beginning is beneficial. As far as color goes. Lots of things will affect the color of a photo, lighting, etc. even monitors will vary. Dan

In Both Dog Shows & Chicken Shows you are depending on the opinion of one person! I agree that breeding the 2 is probably a totally different project. Dan

No expert here for sure, but 2 generations is not much. Don't get me started on mini, teacup, etc versions! A lot of breeders breed for flavor of the month. Not Good for anyone in the long run! Dan

I highly disagree about only 1 out 8 pups being sold as show quality. If that is the case then the breeder is fairly inexperienced and/or has a new line of dogs. Dogs I have been involved with were established for 5 to 6 generations or more and then carefully bred to a mate that in most cases...

I always said when I won an AKC conformation show or a UBGF/AKC Field Trial with one of my dogs that he or she (the Dog) was the best that day in the opinion of one (shows) or 2 (Field Trials) judges. Past that it did not mean a whole lot. I know some feel otherwise. I for sure never made any...

To each their own but if I want to give my chickens supplement in their water I think I will control what they drink and for how long. If someone else wants to do it different then that is what I would do if I were you. Dan

Amen!! The Standard is the Rule! Who cares about an individual Breeder or Judge's opinion if it varies! I bred dogs for several years and I would never breed away from standard to please a certain judge or group. You breed according to the standard and there will be judges that reward it! Dan

Couldn't agree more! I am just a Newbie in Chickens, but have been in involved with animals, even Chickens all my life. I have competed in Field Trials, UBGF Conformation shows, and AKC Conformation shows, and I have had good success for someone who was always small time. I too can see...

To get a Trophy or a Ribbon simply means in one person's opinion you deserved it that day! LOL! Little to brag about! I have had animals win many in my life. They all made their way to the Trash or were buried with that animal! They were theirs not mine. There are many things that are important...
