How does the raffle work? Cost per tx?? I have a SWEET Breda and wouldn't mind more.
I'm not looking like I can bring the littles I have posted on pg 2. Its taking too long to get a licenser here. I'm sorry!
I plan to bring a large bowl of something... egg salad?
I wasn't trying to be rude. I offer an apology if it was taken that way. It will be nice to hang with like minded folks... I am disappointed I might not bring any pullets if I can't get all these bands and certs. I tried asking for help here in the Maine forum but got no response. There's...
I wanted to ask if this was something the public came to. It sounds like it is.
I also do not have an easy up. I figured my friend who is planning to come with me from Mass might have something.
So, its gone from 5$ to 10$ for set up? There is potluck, water and a portapotty provided...
I haven't yet seen my roo cover a hen... or an AM hen anyway. He likes his Orloff girlfriend. If it looks like he is doing his job at any point I could bring some beautiful eggs-- they will all be BBS blue-babies :) If this broody ever gets even one egg to hatch I could bring lav babies...
You did post the link. I had mentioned the thread to MK and didn't get back into see that you had done the legwork of posting the link. Sorry. It'd be nice if ME had a chickenstock. A couple other BYC Mainers are talking about it. You buying or bringing??
That would be me dear. I am trying very very hard to plan to go. I'm hoping at least a few of my Cream Legbars have homes waiting. Maybe it someone gets some of your eggs they could take a roo as part of the deal and start a flock! (hint hint everyone)
I might be getting FBCMs from RI...
Is there a list of what people are bringing? I see a list of items wanted on page two.
I'd like to sell, trade or even gift some GFF Cream Legbar cockerels. I also have Mottled Houdans-a-plenty. ( I need to make room for some Brahmas!!)
Well now I feel silly. (but thanks)
I got my 4 last night and they're already... dead? Dormant? I already failed at my experiment. Good news: still edible. For the chickens.
I didn't take care of them. I had an emergency that didn't get addressed at BYC (despite a call for help) so I...
I read it was pretty easy. I found a great site for it with a link I posted in my home state's thread. I figure they are so good for the chickens and can be sold for bate that maybe I would give it a try. Fresh anything is better than dried up from the store. I guess that I also wondered...
Everyone else gets it. I figured the hen was supposed to be surprised. I love the colors. If you end up taking orders for sizes I know that most people won't wear what I fit. Is there a minimum on sizes ordered to make it worth it to print?
Do any of you breed your own mealworms??
Thank you for the informative answers. I appreciate the heads up and I know you are busy with life much less preparing this event. I didn't know if my questions got noticed. I didn't want to get my hopes up to find out I couldn't transport. If can get NPIP testing-- never done it before...
Well, these are the options of what I COULD bring, but will only bring what people want.
pullets:
Brahmas, light
EE
Welsummers
Marans
Houdan
cockerels:
Cream Legbar
Buckabucka-- you are in Maine with me. If you wanted to shop early let me know and save some space in the car for later for...
I've never been to this. I'd like to bring some birds but I've never done more than transport some home in a worried rush. I know water and food/containers, crates/cages, small bills for making change, pen n pad 4 addys, sunblock, umbrella, table, camping chair and potluck. And chix.
What...
Awesome! I just got a bunch of beautiful cream legbar cockerels and some Houdins and ... and... I might come just come to see them go to goodbreeders rather than soup.
No certs yet. I didn't plan on it till later in the year when everyone was hatched and feathering. A blood test on chicks seems risky but I've never tried either. What else is involved in testing?
I was also asking if I would be in trouble or needed permits to buy birds and bring them home.
I might have BCMarans by then. They are under broody now and due first week in June. DH isn't too happy with my 'chicken fever' and since I REALLY want some SLBrahmas I'll have to make room. I also have 2 Welsummers and 3 EE, all 2-3 wks right now, if anyone were interested but I'm not...
