Hahaha! Same for me, if you came by during the best part of the day you would not know I even had chickens as they are all in the woods. Only when they crow battle do you know. Luckily it does not get as hot here, but can get into the upper 90's but not so much humidity usually.

I have heard that bielefelder eggs require different humidity levels. I don't know what those levels are but a breeder had trouble filling my order due to not having great hatches as she tried to find the right levels. I had a decent hatch last year with the dry method but they were not the...

Has anyone crossed white bresse with bielefelder. I have a nice fast growing bresse pullet that I'm so impressed with, I was thinking of breeding her to a bielefelder roo in the future. Any thoughts on what the chicks would look like.

Great! This is what I was hoping but I was just not sure if their be talking nature would make them less likely to want to confront a predator to save the ladies.

Sorry about all the fighting with your Roos. I personally want a bielefelder as head rooster but that's because I have young kids that get attacked by mature roosters. I just worry if a biele is up to the challenge of protecting the ladies from predators. I have not yet had a mature rooster...

I had a bielefelder pullet I got from GFF and she was awesome. Although she was big I wasn't that impressed with her size. I never did weigh her though. I was impressed with the size and color of her egg. It was 70g to 72g and 4 to 5 a week. It was a darkish coppery color. I have seen eggs...

I have been very pleased with the bieles I got from GFF. In fact I was dissapointed with som I got from a different breeder and sold them so I could get more from GFF.

I would say if you can afford it go with GFF. I had some of the new line bielefelders and got some from another breeder that was the first line imported and there was a huge difference in egg size. The new line direct from GFF consistently laid 71g eggs while the old line I got from another...

I have bielefelder eggs hatching today. They are from someone on this thread who had the origional line imported from GFF. I recently had to give up all my chickens and am starting again and Bielefelders were the chickens at the top of my list. I had bielefelders before direct from GFF second...
