I have other pictures I will post, but this is very close to the type and color of the British Cream Legbar females. I will share more info and pictures when I start to feel normal again after this 10 day trip. Walt

more than likely it was the phone. Even though they take pleasing pictures the colors are not always correct. This is true of dedicated digital cameras as well. Digital color with most equipment is not usually color correct. It is the nature of digital color. Walt

many times color is automatically altered in our new digital world. It can happen with the digital camera, phone or your computer monitor. That is another reason to be careful about giving opinions about chicken color when you are judging it on a digital device. Anyone who works with digital...

I pop in here from time to time. My observations have been that the hard core Cl.folks are being very thoughtful in the way they have gone about this. There have been significant progress. That said the breed is very complex in color and light and dark specimens are to be expected. Body form...

Cream Legbar Working Group: Standard of Perfection

The shape of the body is the most important part of the bird. There are no perfect birds. When it comes time to qualify these, they will need to be of the correct type and the color should be close to the written description. Walt

It's beyond hair splitting. Anything in digital form is not totally correct in color. If you find some image online, be very careful about thinking the color you see is the color of the real thing.....because it is not. Every computer monitor shows color slightly different unless you calibrate...

I'm happy that you were able to contact some British judges. Is that where you ran across Mike Hatcher? He is a longtime friend, who on occasion visits our shows. He would be a great judge to help with the CL qualifying meet if he happens to be in the States at that time. I hope you will be...

Cream Legbar Working Group: Standard of Perfection

No I don't. The problem with chickens is that you can't predict accurate results until you know everything your birds are carrying genetically. You can certainly guess based on prior knowledge, but using a chicken color calculator is not going to be accurate either. I'm not sure I would have...

Good......lol I understand that the Higher Power knows more than me......no problem understanding that. Lots of people on this earth know more about birds than me too, but they aren't in this thread. Barring is a very strong trait so it is not unusual to see it show up in place you don't...

My goodness....you guys went crazy while I was gone. It is going to take me a couple days to respond to those that put out their thoughts on the pictures posted. I don't think I will do it on an individual basis, but rather my comments on answers will be to all. Steen and LaBella: there is a...
