I was really disappointed, especially with it being my first time to hatch anything, but I realized going in it was a long shot; shipped goose eggs, newbie, etc. The good (or maybe not) news is that this experience made me realize how much fun and addictive this could be! I set my...
Good luck everyone! I can't wait to see pictures. I am sending special hatching vibes to you Paganbird for that peachick
My last goose egg started to smell, and I took it out. Both of them had developed air cells, and the rest of the egg looked like all thick yolk. I am guessing that they...

Thanks chsfairy2007 Actaully, for my second try (I had a feeling), I set 7 of my own guinea eggs in another bator 8 days ago. I candled them today, and 5 have definite floaters and veining, 1 is iffy, and one looks clear (I will give it a couple more days to make sure).
Forever...
Update - I decided to break the leaking egg - it was starting to get a funky smell; not really bad, but...
Well, it had NOTHING in it! All this time it was filling up with dark that I thought was a gosling, was nothing more than yellow goo. There was no evidence of an embryo at all. Live and...
Thanks for all the support and suggestions
I put it in a styrofoam meat tray (from the grocery store that I washed well), and covered it with a damp paper towel. Hopefully, that will help contain it if it does blow.
I will keep my nose on it. Today is the last day of turning, so I will have...
I thought about it, and did start another thread - thanks!
I candled it, and it looks no different than it has for a week. I would not think twice about it if there was ANY smell, but there is none. I wiped off the small amount, and there did not seem to be any more, but it makes me nervous...
Question - I turned the eggs this morning (last day to turn), and I noticed some sticky stuff on one egg, like sap (very small amount on the large end). It does not smell at all. Can an egg be rotten and not smell bad?
Nothing new to report. Started with four Pilgrim goose eggs. Two never developed, and two are hanging in. I am not that optimistic since it seems goose eggs are VERY fickle, and I have not seen any defiinite movement, but I will stay to the end! I will stop turning on Friday (day 27), and...
What cute babies everyone! I am still hanging in there, but I am getting more nervous as I get closer. I candled the two remaining goose eggs last night, and still see no movement, although the eggs are almost completely dark except for the air cells. I am on day 22 today.

I am too new at this to able to help you there. Good luck - I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you that those eggs keep going strong!
I love the y'all too! I have relatives in Alabama, Tennesse, and Arkansas, so I hear it alot!
Let us know how the candling goes if you decide you can't wait! The next two weeks is going to kill me!
