    I just can't understand people that don't enjoy hearing a rooster crow. When I go out to do chores in the morning I hear those calls coming from 5 different directions and it just makes me happy.

    I have a dozen laying age hens, 2 of them with 4 & 5 chicks they hatched. Then I have the group I ordered before my 2 hens went broody, I call them the tweens.

    Haven't tried it but I have read that many have had good success just running some fishing line over the area. You can cover a fairly large space for very little. It restricts the hawk's attack line and discourages them.

    I may be heartless, but children will learn too. I give warnings and am watchful of my grands but have never seen a shock do a great deal of damage. I had one grandson (19) hit it 3 times within 5 minutes. Grandparents and Dad kept telling him to be careful but he was a little slow that day.

    I've seen llamas on CL around Okaloosa Co. but the run $1K or more. LGD generally a little less than half that and donks by far the most economical.

    Got the kids out of the house this weekend. They got moved out to the new Big House Saturday. Yesterday I let them out in the run for a little while and they really seemed to enjoy it. One grabbed a dead leaf and had a good rugby match going for a while. At night they get shut in a 4x8x2 box...
