Hello,
My name is Stephanie and I’m new to chickens. I’d like to know more about my chicks and TSC said we had all black sex links and two bantams but I’m now having a hard time believing that. When we got them three weeks ago we were told they were a week old and after everything I’ve seen I am...
She was sold as a "Tried and True Bantam" at the farm store. We thought maybe a Welsummer bantam or some kind of Old English game? Not sure though. If anyone has any ideas they would be much appreciated! Thanks!
My 2 year old sebright, Amanda, is broody - has been for 3 days. Is she serious? I thought they didn’t go broody? If I get her eggs will she go the distance?
Thanks!
Hey it’s me again, I just posted some “mystery” bantams not too long ago, and I just now ended up with an additional one. I’d love to know what kind of bantam this is as well if possible.
We have fluffy legs, a near white belly, a very shiny silver head and back, with some yellow around a pale...
They got me y'all, there were only a few bantams left and one was a frizzle that was already starting to frizzle. An angry pinecone is on my list of wants for this year so what else was I to do but get 4 chicken babes.
So that being said, with it being an assorted bantam bin from tractor supply...
So!! I just rescued two golden sebrights, a hen and a rooster. The hen for sure looks like a seabright. But when I was doing research it says that the roosters will have hen-like feathers, meaning he won’t have pointed hackle or pointed saddle feathers. This boy does, he also has a dark chest...
So I just went out to do my afternoon check on my ladies. I took them some fresh spinach - one of their faves and was missing one of my bantams, Flash!! Which meant she was probably roosting - YEP!
So, I went into the coop and there she was, the little red speckled cutie all huddled up in her...
Hello! I'm looking to expand my flock and I'm looking for a specific breed, the black-breasted red old english game bantam.
I have a basic idea of what the chicks look like (brown stripes from eyes and top of head down to the tail with beige fluff) but I just want to be certain that that is the...
We bought some straight run bantams, my son thought this one was a silkie. But she’s developing feathers. Has a grayish undertone to her. Last picture she’s (he) is bottom middle
Thanks!
I think we’ve got a Belgian bearded D’uccle and a buff silkie? If so, is the black dot on the head significant in any way for the silkie in terms of gender (similar to barred rocks head spot).
I have a 7 1/2 qeek old bantam cochin and I'm just not sure about it! We have another one hatched the same day that is most definitely a cockrel (labeled B1). Here is a pic for reference.
But this other one I just can't tell. It has a pretty significant comb, but it's not red like the other's...
I’ll post them in separate replies. Hatched 3/1, purchased from TSC from the bantam assortment bin. All have feathered yellow legs.
I have no idea what breed or if they’re hens or roos.
Chick 1
Got these as part of the bantam assortment at TSC, but I’m not sure what they are. Hatched 3/1, feathered feet. 4 toes.
Chick 1, who I think is a rooster
I grabbed these 2 little babies from TS out of the assorted bantam bin. The grey has feathered feet and the white(ish) stands fairly tall. I’m fairly new to chickens so I’m not quite sure what kind they are. I’m sure it’s too early to tell gender but that that doesn’t matter to me either way...
I have a hen that is from a lavender Orpington rooster and buff Orpington hen. I don't have a picture of her right now, but I can get one later. What do you think I would get if I bred her to my blue Cochin bantam roo? Any ideas are super appreciated!! Also, ive hatched out a couple chicks from...
