is this chicken an Easter egger? I’ve thought she’s a hen for 15 weeks and now im second guessing, could she actually be a Roo? also she’s fast as lightning and incredibly evasive so as far as pictures go this is all i have right now 😂
I have never had EE's before and I see some roo-ish to several.
Any ideas here?
I would love to not have all roo's but one or two would be ok. I already have 5 hens of varying breeds. I really dont need 6 more pullets either 🤣
I had a jersey giant Roo whomwas gorgeous and I loved but he had...
Making this thread so you can show off your peeps! Post pics and there breeds or mixes! I would also love to see cool crosses! Also hoping to get some inspo on some more potential breeds I love seeing them!
Here’s some of ours!
1) we have our Rooster who is an EE I think brown red ameracauna...
Ok here’s a weird one. I bought 2 EE chicks about 16 weeks ago that were “sexed” as hens. Everything about them has seemed mostly hennish except that one of them, Flora, sprouted a beautiful colorful plumage and these gorgeous flowing tail feathers. I assumed it was just a cool trait since...
Hello! :frow
I am inserting pics here of two hatchmates. They were hatched on 4/19 and are from the same hen and same rooster. Mama is a White Leghorn and Daddy is an Ameraucana.
Fairly certain that the guy on the left with the hybrid walnut/pea comb is a definite ROO. He started showing roo...
Recently got some straight run chicks from TS labeled 'Americana.' Though it would be fun to post pictures and guess what they might turn out as. Here are pictures at 3 days old and 4 weeks (sorry they didn't want to stand still for these).
I'll update every few weeks. Figured this might help...
We have 4 easter eggers that are supposed to all be pullets. I have always been suspicious of one of them because she(?) has always been bigger and her comb grew in bigger than the others and is now starting to pink up as the others remain yellow. She also has red on her shoulders, but it still...
Two Easter egger chicks about six to seven weeks old. I am 99.9% positive the white one (Sider) is a roo. I’m not quite sure about the darker one (Peri.) she/ he is not developing a comb like Sider is, but the reddish/brown on the shoulders leads me to believe roo. Peri has always been the...
New chicken owner and I think out of my 5 chicks I may have 2 roos. I am obsessing over here🤣. One of my Black Jersey Giants I am 99% sure as it was slower to feather and developed the pink comb earlier and looks different from other. Out of my 2 Easter Eggers I think the grey one may also be a...
We have 2 EEs who I think are probably roosters based on other postings I have seen, but wanted to post some pictures just to make sure.
They are both a little over 8 weeks old, but they are very sweet and don’t act like our brown leghorn rooster of the same age. It may be obvious by their...
I have my second round of chicks, and I’m suspecting that one of my EEs is a roo. They were all apparently sexed. But so was the last bunch, and one of my Orloffs ended up being a roo and I was able to figure it out relatively quickly.
Anyways! I have 1 buff Orpington and 2 EEs (one white and...
She was vent sexed as a female (90% accuracy), but I’m a little concerned about her splotchy coloring and large comb. She’s a little over 3 weeks old. Her sister has a similar comb, but more even coloring on the feathers. They both feathered out super early. The comb is yellow with no signs of...
Okay. So all my “girls” are 12 weeks old now and I think we don’t have a roo. The biggest girl who’s definitely top of the order has been my main concern but at this point, her comb isn’t redder than any of the other ones and they all seem to be rocking similar feather patters. I don’t have...
Hi! I'm a first-time chick owner. This is also my first day on this forum, which I've heard a lot of great things about! I got 7 chicks from a really reputable guy in our area. He gets all of his chicks vent sexed at the hatchery where he orders from. They're all soooo friendly, and they...
Hi! My name is Nat. I recently brought home my first ever baby chicks. I am in love with their outgoing, sweet personalities and I can't wait to watch them grow!
(1) My grandfather had chickens and owned/worked a farm. This is my first experience with chickens, and I would like to open up a...
This it my kids favorite chick because of its fluffy cheeks 😊
It is a super calm chick and does sometimes choose to sit on us. What makes me ever more suspicious is while I was looking at it today I noticed a very slight blush/red at the base of its tiny comb - should I be preparing my kids for...
Experts, what do you think? Hen or roo? I have some other roo ee's who have pronounced hackle and saddle feathers than Parsnip here, but Parsnip is larger than the hens.
Thanks in advance,
Allyson
