(HOME FOUND) NC - 2 month old EE pullet and blue sapphire cockerel

Hello, I am looking for a home around NC for an easter egger pullet named Honey and a Blue Sapphire Gem cockerel named Bluey. Both are raised to be friendly with people and originally day olds I got from tractor supply. The reason I can not keep them is because I’m a student going back to...

First Egg & Identifying who laid it!

I’m a newer chicken mama & this is my first ever flock. Today one of my chickens had their very first egg & I’m obsessed! I have all Easter Eggers & they are 23 weeks old! It’s a beautiful little blue egg! I’m so proud! I was able to figure out who laid it by checking their pelvic bone located...

Need help sexing 6 week old EE chicks?

Straight run (I believe that's the right term) from a local whose flock consisted of ameraucanas, brown leghorn, and road island reds, along with a few other breeds. -- Pay no mind to the silkie mom who has done a great job raising them. Although one does have feathered legs like a silkie...

2 wk old chick developing scissor beak

I have seventeen 2 wk old Easter Egger chicks I'm raising indoors. They all appeared normal at 1 day old. I've noticed one of them is only HALF the size of the others so I singled her out today & inspected her closely. I was shocked & dismayed to see she was already developing scissor beak. I've...

    Our very 1st Egg!

When TSC was having their Chick Days, we purchases what we thought were 2 RIR's and 2 barred rocks (all supposed to be pullets). We have been excitedly awaiting our first egg (they turned 18 weeks yesterday) and it was one of our 'Rhode islands' except she laid a blue/green egg so I guess she's...

Easter Egger At six weeks - Rooster?

I’m in NE Texas and just built (put together) my first coop and had a guy come over and build a 10 x 16 run around the coop because in our city to have chickens they have to be totally enclosed. The coop said for 10-15 chickens, but that could only be correct just for roosting! I bought 8 chicks...

    Scabbed wound?

Not sure if this is an ear infection on my Easter Egger or a pecking wound. She’s typically the dominant hen and not too many mess with her. I picked the scab and no puss, just pale pink flesh crater (if that makes sense) * I wish I took pictures after I removed it 🤦🏼‍♀️ Any ideas? Treatment...

    Ideal Poultry Bantams

Just placed an order at Ideal Poultry, I’ve ordered once from them before but it was YEARS ago maybe in 2014. My orders due to ship 08/09 so I’m excited to hear from people about their experiences with Ideal nowadays! My first ever order from them I ordered 8 assorted bantams and received 20...

    Cackle Bantam Easter Egger

I have this gorgeous Bantam Easter Egger I got from a Bantam Assortment from Cackle Hatchery. I’ve posted about her before asking for help figuring out her coloring and genetics, and from what I got as answers she looks like a splash. Now I know Easter Eggers are most of the time made from...

    Is this a Wyandotte?

We bought 2 chicks at a livestock swap a week ago that were labeled as Splash Wyandottes. I have no doubt about 1 of them, but the other has me scratching my head (the one that's more gold). It doesn't look like the other one or like other Wyandotte chicks I've seen. The chicks were in a bin...

Rural King Chicks - What are they?

So once again I feel like I have been duped by the hatchery that Rural King uses! These are my "teenagers" that are about 3 months old (born in April) I picked out and bought 4 Cuckoo Marans, 2 Sapphire Gems and 2 Easter Eggers. One of the EE died after a week so that is why I only have 1 now...

Are my She’s He’s? Marans, Cochin, Orppington

Hello, Thank you in advance to anyone who can assist. I am new to chicken keeping. I ordered seven baby chicks from MPC. They are 6.5 weeks old currently. I ordered six girls and one boy. However, I have my suspicions that some of my bullets are actually roos. I have an assortment of breeds. 1...

    Pure Ameracauna or EE?

Hey. I have the opportunity to get one of these boys to go with my ameracauna splash and blue hens and hopefully have more splashes, but it’s so easy to have people post as pure Ameracaunas when they’re actually Easter eggers so I was hoping I could get some second opinions?

Easter Egger (Possibility of lavender or blue?)

So this is a bit difficult to word the way I’m trying to ask, so correct me if it makes no sense but I have a bantam Easter egger who has the most beautiful coloring. She’s only about two months old but I’m very curious about her possible genetics. I know Easter Eggers are mixes and hatcheries...

Is this a Roo? 6 week old Mosaic mix

This chick is a mixture of an EE and Mosaic. Due to the comb and wattle size I always assumed it was female, but look at it's pointy tail feathers! That means it's gotta be a male right? Note, it's a Fibromelanistic breed so redness of the comb and face is not a factor i can rely on.

BLRW mixed with some kind of blue egger 🤔

Bought some Wyandotte eggs off a local chicken page and they threw in an extra egg. The egg was blue while the rest were cream colored Wyandotte eggs but I do know the woman only has one rooster so definitely a Blue Laced Red Wyandotte dad. What do you think is it a girl or boy and what breed is...
