    Hen Is Acting Strange

We have had two cases of egg bound chickens in the two years of having them, but this feels different. It could be another matter, but I want to be sure. This morning, my little brother brought to attention the fact that one of our girls was acting off. She was puffed up like she was egg bound...

My Hen is Wheezing and Sneezing after laying first egg

My hen laid her first eg about 4 hours ago and now she is making a loud wheezing sound and sneezes occasionally. Is this some sort of fungal or bacterial infection, or is this shock from laying her first egg? If it is an infection, what treatments can I use for her? I am in a cold and moist area.

I have a mixed breed flock. There have been no new birds introduced lately...for probably 3 months. At the beginning of this month I moved. There was a huge chicken coop I purchased from a friend. It had been empty for months (5 or 6 months?) and the chickens they had were healthy. There are...

    Any help appreciated.

I have a single bird of 4 backyard chickens that has come down with some weird sores. I’ve raised them from chicks and they are 2. I’ve dealt with a few black spots on combs before but this seems worse. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

4 week chick sniffling and sleeping a lot?

Less than a week ago my family purchased two ~4 week Jersey Giant chicks, and we've had issues with one of them sniffling to the point we're concerned. You can hear mucus when she breathes and sounds somewhat raspy. She's also done a bit of sneezing, and her eyes are always a little closed and...

Hello everyone my name's Rebecca! I'm new to BYC and raising chickens! BIT of background: I raised 5 day old chicks. At 7 weeks one turned out to be a rooster that I sadly had to rehome due to zoning regulations. To keep our flock number at 5 we decided to rescue a similar age pullet (6-7...
