I am starting to think all the chicks I bought this year are male. Three are polish. One is a light Brahma and the other is a gold laced Wyandotte. Is there any hope that I have a hen?
I only have this one photo of the chicks since they are so fast it’s hard to get one to take better photos and it’s been raining so getting them out of the brooder to take photos has been even more difficult. I can post more photos at a later date but wondering if anyone can tell from chick...
After bringing my chicks in from the garage to keep warm during a power outage I noticed that one of my wyandottes is breathing through her mouth and making a crackling noise.
I haven't noticed any diarrhea or any other symptoms
Any idea what it could be or at least a general treatment? They...
I've heard people talk about them as something that exists, but when I google pictures most of what I get is gold laced and blue laced red Wyandottes. So is this a real color? If so, I would love to see actual pics! Thanks!
This little chickie seems more bold than the rest. Jumps at me and pecks at me and chest bumps the other chicks. Won't run away when I reach for him/her (which is nice because my kids & I like to hold them). Is it too early to tell if a roo? It is one of 12 chicks of various breeds including 4...
Hi! New chicken owners here. We just got these three lovely chickens sold as 16 weeks / 4 month old pullets, two wyandottes and one sussex.
I am worried the black one might be a rooster. She is very brave and curious, food motivated and top of the pecking order.
Her tail seems longer than...
Looking for BCM, Polish, Cochin, Wyandotte, Silkie, frizzle, and some standard egg layers like RIR.
Wanting pullets. I live in the Okanagan. Willing to drive, or possibly pay shipping.
It's my first time getting Wyandotte's so I have no idea how to sex them. We got this one at a place that didnt take the best care of them, they said it was 90% pullets but I'm not sure how accurate that was.
I got 4 chicks from the agway on Saturday, they arrived there Thursday, so I'm guessing they are about a week old. I forgot to ask about age and forgot to watch them put the chicks in the box so I'm not sure who is what breed. Rookie mistake! They are supposed to be barnevelder, golden laced...
Got two Wyandotte’s at a local store and they were supposed to be blue laced red’s. Now I know about BBS and how blue never breeds true, they could both have the black gene instead of blue but now I’m wondering if they may be gold laced.
I’ll add photos below :
thanks!
We have two SL Wyandottes, but one has a spiky comb (although flopped over) and the other has a rose comb. They both came in the mail, and the 3rd dies of heat stroke, but she has a spiky comb too! I don’t think Bess (rose comb) is a Colombian Wyandotte, because she looks like a normal one, and...
He doesn't have any feather feet, he looks almost like a wyandotte to me but the way his feathers are is confusing me, I know he is probably mixed or something. Just need some help identifying what breeds he is mixed with. Thanks in advance!!
I picked up my first ever batch of chickens(Tractor Supply) a couple weeks ago after the 15 I ordered online all were DOA. I got 7 total; 2 golden comets, 4 Wyandottes, and 1 Cornish rock. I cannot figure out which 2 are the golden comets or what varieties of Wyandottes I have?? Any help would...
So, I know it's too young to know for sure, but this is my first dotte. I was wondering if people who have raised more of them might have a better idea based on the feathering and pattern. So far the chick has a very slow growing tail and my last batch of chicks that I saw that in ended up being...
We Ordered from Mc Murray and received a surprise chick.
Could it be an Australop?
Closer views on minute 9 of this video. And some cute Wyandottes too before and after 😁.
Thank you!!!!
Here is 1. Muff or cheek fluff.
Here is two who I'm very sure has muffs. Would you say even a beard?
And finally, are these pins coming in silver laced?
A few years ago, after starting out with a flock of grown hens given to me by a friend, I decided to get a few chicks to raise. A young and inexperienced chick keeper, I headed over to TSC and carefully picked out six chicks in breeds of interest to me. I was naive to the TSC stories of woe, in...
I'm wondering if the coloring changes as they get older. This one is 7 weeks old and her coloring is so pale. I'd like to know if she ages it might get brighter, or it's just a variation of the coloring?
