«We Could Be Legends»

"I thought I reconized you."The elderly woman smiled kindly at Wolfram.
Wolfram narrowed his eyes."How do..How do you know who I am?"
"Why, your mother used to bring you in here every once in a while when you where young. I saw your blue eyes when you just came in, and I knew it had to be you."
Wolfram stepped closer to her, blood trickling to the ground."I don't ever remember being here. Are...Are you sure? You knew my mother?"
"Why yes, young boy! Your mother would work late sometimes, and couldn't leave you home. She brought you here with her every so often. Your name is...oh, my old mind can't remember very well. Wolf, right?"
"Um, Wolfram, miss. I um...I'm glad you knew my mother. She was a good person..."
"Was?"
"Oh. I...I um.."Wolfram choked on his words, fumbling and struggling to spill what he was trying to say."My mom was...killed the other day."He quickly looked at the ground to hide the emotion in his eyes. He heard the woman move towards him slowly."I'm so, so sorry Wolfram. I'm so sorry that happened to you."
Wolfram looked up, utter agony plastered across his face."I...You have nothing to apologize for."He murmured, and stiffened when she put her hand on his shoulder.
"You're like your mother in some ways, I can already tell, Wolfram. You are very smart, Wolf, like your mother. But, you aren't like her in a lot of ways. I saw you arguing with the girl out in the lobby. You can't be so harsh, it will get you no where. Peace is key, and if you can keep and maintain the key, in the end everything will be already."
Silence fell for moments on end."I never thought about it that way before..." He couldn't help but look at the scars on his wrist. I can learn from my mistakes...
"Why do you have so many scars on your arms?"
Wolfram froze, staring at her."I uh...I have a vicious cat, that's all."He stuttered quickly, putting his hands behind his back.
"Learn from your mistakes. You can learn from that one."She prodded one scar on his upper arm gently."And help other people learn from it.
Your mother would be very proud."
"I...Thank you....what was your name?"
"Vanessa. Vanessa Davis."She smiled, and exited the room, leaving a very different Wolfram behind her.

"Oh, how it does shock one to see their rescuer forget them, but I do suppose it has been... What? Twenty years? It's me, Leona."
(OOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH my gosh. The nostalgia. :))
Grace leaned forward in interest. So it isn't actually a key, eh?
Brisa glanced down and studied the envelope. It seemed completely ordinary. How can such a small thing be so important?
(*eyes widen**rushed high-pitched whisper* This is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.)

"Considering how you're the cause of this breach of security, I think it's best I handle it." Frosty replied shortly.
Indigo sighed and turned away. And they thought she was bossy. This chicken might be the most bossy creature on the planet.
"Ok, your diplomaticness," she sneered. She walked back towards the door.

"So, honey, would you like to be healed now?" Della was disinfecting his wounds.

Roberto turned and smiled at his leader. They were more on friendly terms than professional ones. Just imagine a 4-H club.
Now imagine those kids grew up and added a few spies, a mini hospital and a different goal.
Leona didn't give Roberto a glance, she was too focused on Toby and River. Plus, he was kinda creepy. Dude, stop smiling at me.
"Er- I guess you could say that. He's my step dad." He tightened his grip on Alpha's leash. Something about Leona seemed weird to him, but it might have just been the entire place. "I should go." He glanced at River. He was feeling extremely guilty about suddenly leaving the others.
Just like mom.
What?
I'm abandoning my fr- the people I know like mom did. I'm no better than her. I'm just a coward.
River slid her eyes over to him, giving the ever so slightest nod. She didn't know if it was the best idea for him to go off by himself, but it probably wasn't safe in here, either.

River searched wildly for something to say, but instead her mouth just hung gaping open, as though her jaw was broken or she simply didn't have the energy to close it. Was this even Leona? It wouldn't be the first time she was fooled over whether it was the real Leona. She shivered as she thought of Noname, the shapeshifter who had fooled them all, impersonating Leona, they-- The Heroes, had mistakenly 'saved' her from Noble, a man who knew she wasn't who she seemed to be, and killed him by accident.
"How do I know you're even Leona? No one has had a hard time faking to be her in the past." She growled, pulling her usual blank look over her face.
"Well, I guess I can't prove that to you, can I? Any shifter could do that too. You'll just have to have trust in me, River." Leona shot back, her bright smile still stuck to her face.
River gave a low growl deep in her throat. Don't fall for something like that again River, don't- "Fine. I would let us keep um... Catching up, but I need answers. On the Pure. Right now." She said, studying Leona's expression.
Her smile had vanished and she looked River in the eye.
"We... I don't have much on them, but..." Leona started.
"I need whatever you've got, I don't care how much." River interrupted, flicking her tail impatiently.
"I was just about to tell you, Riv." She huffed. "But um... The Pure are a anti-inhuman group. They think we should be 'pure' once more. They're Firestein fanatics, River. Survivors of his army that took his idea to the next level. They think that Inhumans are 'impure'. They kill, much more than Firestein, you think he was bad but... The Pure make him look like a silly child. No imprisoning from them. Do... Do you remember what he did to Gage? That stuff he splashed on him...?"
Growing horror flickered over River's face. No, no, no. Please no... "Yes. It literally melted his wings off."
"They want to do that on a much grander scale. World wide. Melt away the im-pureness. Make them right. Pure. No powers, no Inhumans. That's what the key is for. It's a poison, once they release it, it will travel through the air and destroy all the Inhumans' abilities. Once it enters it's victim's body and blood stream, it latches onto the Inhuman cells, killing them." She paused.
"They're in their final steps of wiping away the impure."

"Sorry for interrupting, but where exactly is this place? Thanks to a certain someone, cough Indigo cough, I slept through the ride here." Toby asked. He overheard their conversation about wiping out inhumans. There's actually something that can be used to get rid of magic? How have I never heard of this before? Why are they making it sound like a bad thing? I guess some people like their powers.

"Alright sit so I can clean your wounds, wll you?"
Wolfram made a snarky remark about the nurse under his breath, sitting on the bed.
Making no effort to be careful, the nurse pulled away the shredded pieces of his t-shirt sleeve, cleaning wound. He winced."Maybe you could be more careful?"He growled.
"Whatever. Hey, why the heck are there so many scars on your arms? How many fights have you been in, dude?"
He stiffened, and pulled away from her."Something's I don't need the whole world knowing thank you very much! I can leave right now, I don't have a problem with it. Actually, I think Lach can clean a wound better then you, and he doesn't have any doctor training or whatever."
"Geez what is your problem? Why are you such a jerk?"She muttered, attempting to clean his wound again.
But Wolfram slapped her hand away, eyes narrowed defensively."Get away!"He snarled."I don't need your filthy claws touching me, I can do this myself, I've done it plenty of times before. I didn't even want to come here in the first place!" What am I even mad at right now? Bleddyn? Indigo? Lach? The nurse? Kill me now....

(Well there is a key inside, but "the key" isnt a key sort of...)

Tomas was quite, shuffling the papers with his back to them, hiding the tears that dripped down his old wrinkled cheeks. "She, saved me once. Did me a solid. So I did one back. Didn't know it would end like this though." He nodded sadly to himself. "Helping always hurts." Tom sighed and wiped his cheeks with his sleeve, and turned back around to face the crowd of teens. "I have a key for you!" he announced oddly cheerful despite the somber mood. A wry smile briefly touching his lips. Then muttering something about an inside joke, he pulled a small white envelope out from under the counter.

"Silver had me make this for her. She wanted it to be secure. She said she had to keep it away from the Pure or the world would end." He squinted at them suspiciously, "You're not working for the Pure right?"

"No, we aren't." Brisa replied seriously, unable to match his more cheery tone. "Why would the Pure enlist younger Inhumans?" (I'm assuming that the Pure is still a mainly anti-Inhuman organization?)

Grace leaned forward in interest. So it isn't actually a key, eh?

(OOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH my gosh. The nostalgia. :))

Brisa glanced down and studied the envelope. It seemed completely ordinary. How can such a small thing be so important?

Tom gave them each a hard look, "Well, you never know." He hesitated still holding the envelope. "Silver gave her life to keep this hidden. Now no one living but me, knows where it is. She didn't even tell the people she worked with, because she wasn't sure who could be trusted. She went to her old friends instead. You having this paper, you must have met Maryella." He sighed picking the paper back up off the counter, re-crumpling it and throwing it back in the garbage. "What exactly do you plan to do with it once you have it? I suppose it doesn't really matter. Silver was careful." He nodded to himself as though coming to a decision.

Tom handed the Envelope to Brisa. "In side there, is a key for a safe deposit box. It's in the BofA down on Credence street. The thing that Silver was hiding from the pure, it's in that box. Though, you'll have a hard time getting in there with out her. "

(** description ** inside the envelope is a hollow metal cylinder attached to a key ring. The end not attached to the key ring has notches cut into it. It is a key to a safe deposit box for the bank)
