«We Could Be Legends»

"Alright sit so I can clean your wounds, wll you?"
Wolfram made a snarky remark about the nurse under his breath, sitting on the bed.
Making no effort to be careful, the nurse pulled away the shredded pieces of his t-shirt sleeve, cleaning wound. He winced."Maybe you could be more careful?"He growled.
"Whatever. Hey, why the heck are there so many scars on your arms? How many fights have you been in, dude?"
He stiffened, and pulled away from her."Something's I don't need the whole world knowing thank you very much! I can leave right now, I don't have a problem with it. Actually, I think Lach can clean a wound better then you, and he doesn't have any doctor training or whatever."
"Geez what is your problem? Why are you such a jerk?"She muttered, attempting to clean his wound again.
But Wolfram slapped her hand away, eyes narrowed defensively."Get away!"He snarled."I don't need your filthy claws touching me, I can do this myself, I've done it plenty of times before. I didn't even want to come here in the first place!" What am I even mad at right now? Bleddyn? Indigo? Lach? The nurse? Kill me now....
"Calm the frick down you ungrateful cat boy!"The nurse snarled, backing away from him.
Wolfram flinched at her harsh tone, a hurt look glittering in his eyes. He got up, holding back the growing urge to punch the nurse senseless. The lights in the room hurt his eyes, his wounds growing worse by the minute, blood dripping down his arm onto the ground, his head ached like claws where sinking into his skull, and he could barely stay on his feet, dizzy and he felt waves of nausea."Get. Me. Out. Of. Here."He hissed to Lachlan, clearly uneased and anxious.

Lachlan-- hurt, tired, and ticked, whirled on the nurse, his eyes burning, but his voice came out... Almost calm. "Wow, ten out of ten for best nurse. You know that his scars aren't your problem, right? He's not ungrateful, you're just rude. He wasn't wrong saying you should be more careful, maybe it sounded mean, but it wasn't. He was just kidnapped, beat, and lost a ton of blood, and here you are jerking his sleeve off, and poking his wounds instead of healing him, like you are supposed to." He snapped, not hearing Wolfram's quiet hiss over his own angry voice.

Wolfram just stared at him dumbly, shocked at the fieriocty
in Lachlan's voice, and even more shocked that Lachlan was defending him.

"It's not my fault he can't keep his nose out of trouble. I'm not his mother, I'm not responsible for him. Go crying to your mothers, I don't care. I'm sure they could treat your wounds better then I could, I'm just trying to do my job. And I was just asking what the scars where from, no need to get defensive. What's the matter with them anyway, they're just battle scars."

Wolfram whipped his head around, turning to face the nurse."For your information, my mother is dead! And these scars? Do this look like sloppy battle scars to you?"He jerked his arms outward, the underside showing up."These are clean cuts, do you think someone in battle would be able to cut a wound this clean? Or does it look like someone purposely did it?" He jerked his arms away."I can't believe how rude you are! You don't just ask people why they have scars. Maybe I don't want to be reminded why I have them. And you certainly aren't gentle!"

"I've been working all night. I'm exhausted, I haven't sleep for a whole day. I don't need to put up with your sob stories."

Lachlan's temper boiled with shocking ferocity. Who did this idiot think she was? "It's not his fault either that people attacked him! And for your stupid mouth, watch it! He doesn't have a mother. Oh, I'm so sorry that you're tired, I was just stabbed!" He snarled, pointing at his ripped and bloodied shirt. "Shut up and heal him, like you're supposed to, and we didn't bring our 'sob' stories up, you basically asked for it, so don't even." He growled, looking at though he might reach out and strike the woman.

Wolfram backed away against the wall, anxiety building inside. He was scared of what he might do, scared he might hurt someone."Lachlan we should just go..."He whispered, grabbing the doorframe to stop himself from doing anything idiotic.

"Back off, if you touch me Leona will kick you out."
"And if you say one more word to this two boys Leona with kick YOU out."Wolfram jumped when he heard the elderly lady Vanessa's voice."Out, now."She growled to the other nurse, who dashed away from the older woman.

Wolfram's legs trembled weakly, his grip on the doorframe becoming tighter."Thanks."
"No problem, she's nothing but trouble that one. Are you boys alright? She didn't hurt you, did she?"Vanessa asked.
"Physically, no." mentally and emotionally? Heck yes....

Lachlan looked rather relieved as the snappy woman scrambled away, and turned his bright green eyes on Vanessa. "Leona?" He blurted. Probably not the same one, but a lot of things today seem a lot like Mom's stories. "Oh, thank you for making her leave, Mrs. Vanessa. No, she didn't." He said, remembering his manners.

"Oh, of course. Leona? Yes, she is the multitude leader."Vanessa explained, leading the dazed Wolfram back to the bed, and started gently cleaning the wound again."River and a few others, Silver's old friends, rescued her oh, I say 18 or more years ago, and when Leona became older she founded the Multitude."

"Really?" Lachlan said, suddenly subdued. "My mom is River." He paused. "What is the Multitude? I mean, I know you guys are against the Pure but, why did Leona found it?" He edged closer, glancing over at Wolfram.

Vanessa shrugged."I don't really know why she founded it. I never asked. I assume you could ask her if you find her. Tell her River is your mother."She told him, gently bandaging Wolfram's arm.
Wolfram winced."I'm so confused. My mother never told me any of this stuff."He glanced at his freshly bandaged arm. It suddenly reminded him of Bleddyn."Bleddyn needs her leg wound checked."
