"I thought I reconized you."The elderly woman smiled kindly at Wolfram.
Wolfram narrowed his eyes."How do..How do you know who I am?"
"Why, your mother used to bring you in here every once in a while when you where young. I saw your blue eyes when you just came in, and I knew it had to be you."
Wolfram stepped closer to her, blood trickling to the ground."I don't ever remember being here. Are...Are you sure? You knew my mother?"
"Why yes, young boy! Your mother would work late sometimes, and couldn't leave you home. She brought you here with her every so often. Your name is...oh, my old mind can't remember very well. Wolf, right?"
"Um, Wolfram, miss. I um...I'm glad you knew my mother. She was a good person..."
"Was?"
"Oh. I...I um.."Wolfram choked on his words, fumbling and struggling to spill what he was trying to say."My mom was...killed the other day."He quickly looked at the ground to hide the emotion in his eyes. He heard the woman move towards him slowly."I'm so, so sorry Wolfram. I'm so sorry that happened to you."
Wolfram looked up, utter agony plastered across his face."I...You have nothing to apologize for."He murmured, and stiffened when she put her hand on his shoulder.
"You're like your mother in some ways, I can already tell, Wolfram. You are very smart, Wolf, like your mother. But, you aren't like her in a lot of ways. I saw you arguing with the girl out in the lobby. You can't be so harsh, it will get you no where. Peace is key, and if you can keep and maintain the key, in the end everything will be already."
Silence fell for moments on end."I never thought about it that way before..." He couldn't help but look at the scars on his wrist. I can learn from my mistakes...
"Why do you have so many scars on your arms?"
Wolfram froze, staring at her."I uh...I have a vicious cat, that's all."He stuttered quickly, putting his hands behind his back.
"Learn from your mistakes. You can learn from that one."She prodded one scar on his upper arm gently."And help other people learn from it.
Your mother would be very proud."
"I...Thank you....what was your name?"
"Vanessa. Vanessa Davis."She smiled, and exited the room, leaving a very different Wolfram behind her.
