«We Could Be Legends»

"Oh yes, of course I would agree." Lachlan snickered, glancing at River. "I'm going to go grab some food, I'll uh, be back." He muttered, before scrambling over to the pizza and happily digging into a piece.

River glanced at Wolfram, cocking an eyebrow. "Suit yourself, Wolfram. Starving is always fun." She said sarcastically, flicking her eyes over to Alice, but not saying a word to her niece.
"Yeah? So is being sick to your stomach. Thanks for the info, River, really needed it."Wolfram snarled sarcasticly.

Wolfram suddenly froze, and heard a voice. He reconized that voice from somewhere....
"Why don't you let us help you?"She offered gently.
"Get away from me! I don't need your help! Scamper off, wimp!"He snarled, looming over her threateningly. She whimpered in fear, backing away from him."You better be afraid of me."

He swallowed hard, turning around, meeting her gaze."She's probably really overwhelmed, just like most of us."He replied, his voice not harsh yet not welcoming either. Neutral. No matter how strong his voice sounded though, he looked like he would just die right there, his face and arms bleeding, his light gray t-shirt almost ripped to complete shreds, and his face pale as a sheet.
Brisa jumped a little and turned her head quickly to look at him. Wow, he looks like he's been through a lot. Was the first thing that came into her mind. He seems calmer now. She thought cautiously. "Are you okay?" She asked tentatively. "You look like you're about to fall over."

"Okay." She said, a little reluctantly. A clicking sound followed as Brisa texted back, and the little swoop sound as well. "I just don't want her to ask-" A reply came, and she finished the sentence in a defeated voice. "What friend. She likes to 'stop by' and pick me up unexpectedly." She explained. Oh well.
I'm at Jessi's. She typed, tapping the send button.
When will u b back?
I'm not sure. Not too long though maybe.
Ok. See u soon. <3
Ok. :)

"It seems like I'm off the hook tonight." Brisa sighed. She picked up her other slice of pizza and took a bite, glancing around the room, her eyes settling on Alice. "Do you know why she's crying? Maybe just overwhelmed?"

"That's good." Jessi said. She glanced at Alice. "I don't know, after everything everyone's going through I'm surprised she's the only one crying."

"True." Brisa replied, glad for an excuse to glance away from Wolfram. "Everyone looks really beat up."

"Yeah. They should've been healed while they had a chance. As bad as everyone's injuries look, I think any mental things would be worse, everyone is probably going to get PTSD or something similar. Hopefully I'm wrong." Jessi said between mouthfuls of pizza.

Wolfram gave a amused snort, as if he actually found the comment funny."Well, beside the killer concussions and wounds I have and the fact that food looks utterly revolting at the moment, I'm fine."He replied nonchalantly, shrugging as if it were no big deal."And you?"

"If I don't have PTSD from previous events in my life, I doubt I'd get it from this."Wolfram grumbled."Mapleshade is nothing but a bad storm, she'll wear off eventually. Well....at least till she finds out that I lied to her and there isn't actually any sort of key in my moms apartment."

"Just because you're mr. Tuff guy, doesn't mean anyone else won't get it. I mean, I'm pretty sure being stabbed, shot, and kidnapped is enough to give people PTSD." Jessi replied casually, like they were discussing the weather.

"Yeah? So is being sick to your stomach. Thanks for the info, River, really needed it."Wolfram snarled sarcasticly.
River's head turned to him, her eyes slightly cold. "Get a joke, kid-- I mean, Wolfram." She growled, flicking her tail. She turned her back eyes to Alice, before turning and walking into the kitchen.

Brisa nodded ruefully in agreement. "I hope everyone'll be okay." She said.

"I'm fine, thanks." She said, almost wishing she had some terrible injury to compare to his so she didn't sound so wimpy. "Why do you think you aren't hungry?" She asked, her voice attempting to become stronger. "You should probably at least drink some water." She suggested gently.

Brisa sat up suddenly and grabbed the envelope over at the kitchen counter, returning quickly and setting it between them. "That reminds me, we got it. We got the key."
