«We Could Be Legends»

Camilla stumbled away from her cousins and unconscious sister, her grey eyes sealed to Indigo. "I'm an ice-bender." She choked out, glancing nervously at the wildly abundant flames from time to time.
"That might help," Indigo said. "Any more volunteers?" A young girl shoved a woman and her young son forward.
"You can do this, Mom," she whispered, and nodded to the boy. "You too, Eli."
"I'm a Hydrokinetic," the woman offered. She whispered to the skinny boy clinging to her and he nodded, disappearing behind the girl who had spoken.
Indigo gestured for the woman to come closer.
A young man also came forward. "I can control the wind, somewhat. I may be able to stop its momentum and slow the fire."

Peter felt like he was on fire. Actually, he probably was.
He dashed through the undergrowth, coughing his lungs out. He paused for a second to get his bearings, then teleported to a small clearing. There was a person there. He quickly grabbed their shoulder, teleporting back. He fell to the ground, gasping and coughing.

Indigo nodded and stumbled into a crowd of frightened people escaping the fire. She stood on a small boulder.
Perhaps extra height will make me more noticeable.
Indigo tossed her head, the long, dark curls that were drooping into her eyes fell into their rightful places.
"Everyone... Look at me..." Her commanding voice rang out in the din of fear.
Timidous faces turned, eager to find a brave one among them. Indigo was careful to erase all traces of doubt from her beguiling countenance.
"I know you're all scared, but I know you feel powerless with no way to help. " There was quiet. If the people before her could find the courage to speak, Indigo was sure she'd hear the fearless cry of "Amen."
However, no one had the courage to utter more than the hushed whisper muttered between them, spreading like ink through water.
And who is she to say that? How can she help us? What can she say to change things? What does she want from us?
And...
What can we do to help?
Indigo raised her hands, though she could not silence a shout, for there was none that she had the power to silence. Not in this group, only in the wall of fire from which screams came. Perhaps it was to silence the whispers or the fire and screaming echoing in her mind.
"In order to help, we need some volunteers," Indigo continued. "Do any of you happen to be waterbenders? Or have the ability to curb fire?"

Toby felt his head automatically turn when Indigo spoke. Man, she's tall. He thought, and then shook his head. Don't pay attention. Ignore her. He turned to face the scattered Pure, and shot one of them. Now that he was the only one fighting back, he had all of their attention. "Well, I should've expected that." Toby said under his breathe, moving behind a tree as he was shot at. He winced as a bullet whizzed past his ear, briefly poking out of his hiding spot to shoot. They better hurry up. I doubt I can hold them off for much longer. He let out a frustrated growl as he ran out of ammo. Looking around, he found a gun in the hands of a dead body. "I'll be needing this, please and thank you," he said, prying the gun out of her cold dead hands. He continued to shoot, although his bullets weren't hitting the targets as often as he would have liked.

Indigo gathered the volunteers and sent them to the river.
The fire slowed its pace as the wind died.
Good, they're making progress, Indigo thought.
"Now, are they're any healers or those who would want to recover the injured?"

The people who announced themselves were reluctant, but the total number in this group was greater than the "fire squad" and made of humans and Inhumans alike.

Brisa's words reached Wolfram's ears, but they didn't really mean anything to him. They didn't strike a feeling of triumph or any emotion for that matter. They merely left him feeling more empty, more...desolate then he had ever felt before.
Mapleshade had murdered so many people, including his mother, and destroyed the city he had grown up in, killing so many people in the process. What guilt did he owe her, a murderer? What remorse should he show for a psychopath?
Yet, he couldn't help but feel like he had done wrong. But he hadn't killed her himself, right? It wasn't his fault...right?
At the sound of River's voice, he looked up, staring numbly at her out stretched hand, before his gaze drifted to her face. He blinked, barely recognizing her for a moment, before he snatched her hand, scrambling to his feet. He swayed on his feet, the world spinning around him. He paused for a moment, swallowing down the waves of nausea, before he looked at River.
He pulled her towards him suddenly, pulling her into a sudden hug, ignoring the protests of his wounded body. "You're okay," he whispered. "You're alive."
River was ridged for a second, shocked by his sudden show of affection, having honestly expected a snarky remark.
She slowly relaxed, wrapping her arms around him and letting her head drop slightly into the crook of his neck. "Yeah, kid. We're okay. We made it." She whispered, her words catching in her throat. She stayed there for awhile, before pulling away and draping his arm around her shoulders; reaching her own arm around under his other one and successfully propping him up. "I need to get you to the van." She rasped, stealing one quick glance at he place where Mapleshade's body was turning to ash, before turning back in the direction of the van.

(Has anyone done anything with Alice or has she been unconscious the whole time? How many days has it been? Who's hurt... Etc. I'm gonna be away from home for the next 3 days, but could rp today. And I might be up to it for a little bit after the weekend.)

Camilla edged towards the fire, it's smoke wafting over her face, making her dizzy from the shear heat of it, not to mention how hard she was coughing.
She squinted, forcing that familiar coldness into the tips of her fingers as she raised her hands towards the fire and releasing as much snow and ice as she could into the raging flames, quickly hearing the sputters and hisses as the snow began to smother the fire and melt into water.

Lachlan's arms were getting tired of carrying Alice's unconscious body in his arms, and was grateful when the reached the van, Finlay pulling open its door open for them; and he didn't have to be told twice to deposit Alice inside it, before pulling back out and glancing around.
His eyes fell on where Toby was fighting a pretty well sized group of Pure, and he turned back to Finlay. "Get in and stay here, I'll be back." Before his brother could protest he turned, prying a gun away from a body, forcing himself to not look the dead Pure man in the eye, feeling intensely nauseated by knowing this was one he'd seen his mother shoot.
He turned towards where Toby was fighting, slipping around the group and behind a tree near Toby, peeking out and firing a shot that hit a Pure in the wind pipe, dropping them immediately.

We made it.
Wolfram released a breath he hadn't realized he was holding, momentarily able to relax without fearing someone was on his back, watching and waiting.
He yelped when River slung a around his back, holding him up. He struggled, pulling away with a strained, "River, no!"
He stumbled from her grasp, instantly his vision flickering. He planted his feet firmly on the ground, refusing to fall into the dizziness that consumed him. "We have to find the others. I won't leave until I know they're alright."
A sizzling, cracking sound distracted him, and he glanced past River, relieved to see Camilla, though coughing furiously, attempting to put out the fire. And Lachlan, hidden behind a tree, peering out momentarily to shoot at Pure members.
"Bleddyn." His gaze snapped back to River. "Bleddyn and Ash, are they alright?"

(She's be unconscious the whole time, Lachlan just carried her away from Wolfram's battered car to to the van and left her in it with Finlay. What was going on when you were last here? I think it's been like 3-5 hours since the city fell. There's been a huge battle. Bleddyn now has earthquake powers, there's a huge fire that Camilla and some others that aren't from the group that showed up are trying to put out. Connor was inadvertently killed by Bleddyn, and Wolfram and River were also accidentally hurt by her (Not mortally). Sherri was burned to death by a Pure boy named Shadow who was in turn killed by Toby. Jenna was killed by Mapleshade. Wolfram killed Mapleshade by throwing her into the fire. He's got broken ribs, also covered in bunches of bruises and scratches. River has broken ribs, has major burns on her hands, wrists, and arms, and is covered in bruises and scratches. Camilla, Lachlan, Toby, Jessi, and Finlay are fine, idk about the rest of 'em.)
