«We Could Be Legends»

Jessi shook her head. “N-no, that’s not possible. Mom’s alive. She has to be. She’s just... off helping people,” she looked around, fighting back tears as she knew Taylor was right.
She squeezed her eyes shut, taking a deep breath. When she opened her eyes again, her face lacked all sadness, an ability she learned from Rex. Nows not the time cry. She scolded herself. She looked down at Taylor. “Anyone else? I know Connor, and now mom and Sherri. Did we lose anyone else?”
Taylor stayed quiet as Jessi processed what had happened, surprised at the girls ability to just shut her emotions off like a switch. She shook her head. "Not...not that I know of. Bleddyn is missing but I think... She'll be fine, Wolf's looking for her. Everyone else is alright."

Jessi was relieved to hear that. “Good. Alice is doing a good job healing everyone with major injuries, and most of the others have been patched up so hopefully we don’t lose anyone else,” Jessi said, scanning the group of people. Her eyes met Taylor’s, and Jessi had a look of concern on her face. “Were you hurt at all?” She asked.

Taylor nodded, her gaze flickering to Alice as the younger girl healed the others of the group, then back to Jessi.
"Not really. There was another healer that healed me a while ago, so I'm fine now." There was a pause for a moment before she spoke again. "What about you?"

“Good, I don’t want you dying on us.” Jessi said. She looked behind her, stretching out her wings. “My wings are a bit... damaged, but it’s nothing serious,” Jessi replied, looking at the bullet and knife holes that tore through the delicate webbing. She neatly tucked her wings down against her back. She had meant it when she said it wasn’t serious. It hurt a lot, but that part of her wings didn’t have any blood or important organs. With a few stitches it would heal up on its own, leaving nothing but a few small scars.

"The Pure can't get rid of me that easily." Taylor murmured, looking at the tears in the delicate pink webbing of Jessi's wings. "Will they heal alright?"

Jessi smiled at Taylor’s comment. She nodded. “They should. I’ll probably have a few scars though.” She said.

@RoostersAreAwesome Alice frowned in concentration, his leg was fully healed, but she was at a loss as to how to help him with his fading problem. It wasn't exactly like it was an injury.

"I'm sorry Grace," She said sighing. "I really have no idea how to help."

Brisa raised her head from her arms, taking in the world around her. She sat there a moment, dazed, before she realized that besides the soft chatter of the group, the world was silent. “Why is everything so quiet? Where’s the police, or ambulances, or something? You’d think there’d be helicopters overhead at this point or the military would’ve arrived by now,” She mumbled, confused. Then a thought struck her. “What if the stuff that destroyed the city has already spread? And the hospitals and police stations have collapsed and can’t help anyone?”

Jessi looked at Brisa, giving her a sad look. “I... don’t think anyone is coming. Indigo said earlier the government is probably evacuating the city,” she said, sitting next to her and wrapping a warm wing around Brisa’s shoulders. “But maybe it’s just taking them a while. We are kinda in the middle of nowhere.” she added hopefully, squeezing Brisa’s shoulders. “And if the poison malfunctioned, maybe it won’t spread.” She hesitated. “I know a police officer... would it make you feel better if I tried to see if he would come here? It wouldn’t really do much, but it might be better than nothing.” Jessi offered.

“Thanks, you’re probably right,” Brisa responded, leaning against Jessi. “I’m fine if the police don’t come, it’s just that there are just so many injured people that need help and not that many healers.”
