I was supposed to be sleeping... my 3 year old just stopped kicking me. :P she's such a pain sometimes.

I ain’t fraid of no yotes!

"The average Eastern coyote in Nova Scotia is about 15 kg (34 lbs) with some males reaching 23 kg (50 lbs.). This is about twice the size of coyotes found in southwestern USA. This larger size has been attributed to past interbreeding with wolves, as coyotes spread northward and eastward across the continent."

they have killed hikers in Cape Breton during the day. :/

I’ve always known that I’d be able to defend my self if I was attacked by a coyote and it would be incredibly rare for an entire pack to attack especially since rabies is usually the cause of attack and chances are the coyotes would kick an infected coyote out of the pack to protect themselves(there have been documented cases) and I could withstand a single coyote

We have coywolfs also, and the only one i have seen during the day was clearly rabid and I saw it twice in the same area(neighbors yard/my yard) and took quite a bit of charging and yelling to scare it away, i assume it later died somewhere in the woods from its condition. Here are the pics of it:
