Me, too!! She had 3 other sisters and a brother that might be cross breeds. They all look different, though. Unlike Hennah, the 3 girls had feathered feet. Heather and Sparrow passed away recently. Heather was the one that took in my duck eggs and saved them.

Terribly sorry for the losses, they looked like great birds and I like their crosses too. Goodness, they are gorgeous! Rudy has such vibrant colors, he looks awesome as well!! I like his name, I had a Rusty.

Exactly so! Then they prance around with their wings open like a grouse! Some can be more talk than peck while others pack a punch.

Too funny!! That's how I feel with Magnum, in my profile photo... I love that bird to bits but my Dad cannot really grasp a good friendship with him.

I’m just curious… how do you pick up chickens? I usuall grab them with thumbs over wings and hands on chest and legs hanging free and then If I’m holding them for longer I’ll tuck them under my arm or cradle them. So how do you do it?

When I pick up chicks I slide in sutley and then just lift them up by their chest and they just fit in the palm of my hand

I’m just curious… how do you pick up chickens? I usuall grab them with thumbs over wings and hands on chest and legs hanging free and then If I’m holding them for longer I’ll tuck them under my arm or cradle them. So how do you do it?

For picking them up the same way except my pinkies go around the back of their legs if im picking them up from behind.
If im holding them for longer ill put and arm over their wings with them facing toward me and ill support their feet with that same arms hand. My free hand petting their chest/holding them there.

I find that if I hold their legs in anyway they kick a lot and are really uncomfortable but when I let them hang they feel like they are just being supported while standing/roosting
