♞Equestrian Chat Thread!♞

Oh! Sorry, I have to correct myself. I am on a different horse forum; The Horse Forum, sorry! I might have to look into the other one though I like how it is more like BYC.
Hey, cool! I should check that site out. ;) Horses are my absolute favorite animal ever, but I try not to get on that website much...it's not as 'family friendly' as BYC, in my opinion. :)
I joined and followed you:D I'm Cruise_Over_Oxers!
Thank you! I will get on soon and follow you back! :highfive:

Ha, I just got back from the barn and this thread popped up on the side. I just had a fabulous ride on my OTTB mare. :D I'm super pleased with how she's coming along. I think I'll set up some jumps on Saturday and see how she goes.

As far as horse forums, The Chronicle of the Horse is the only place to go for real horse knowledge and discussions on everything from training to the latest medical research to ethics in the show world. It's a bit more serious in tone, since a lot of us are or have been in the horse industry, but you simply won't find the knowledge or experts on any other horse forum. :)

Hello! And welcome to the thread! Can't wait to talk with you more! That's awesome that your ride went well, for me there's nothing better than a nice ride, I just got back from the barn too ironically enough and it went fantastic! Hopefully the jumps go well! The Chronicle of the Horse might be something I will check out..I have read some post on there and they've been fantastic! This year, I am starting to get serious about my showing. I have shown pretty much since I started riding but after my long horse searching break, I'm really starting to pick up speed on it again. We found a fantastic trainer, arena and everything, the future is looking bright.:D Anyway, blah blah enough about me, what's your OTTB's name?

That's great! What are you showing in? A good trainer makes all the difference when you're upping your game on the showing side of things. Did you finally find the horse you were looking for?

Her name is Artemis, but I call her Art. She had a different name on the track of course but it was awful and I didn't keep it. Plus I'd also eventually like to do some foxhunting with her so I figured that naming her after the goddess of the hunt couldn't hurt!

I've actually been wanting to get an account on Chron of Horse but haven't yet. :)

You definitely should! Years back I tried out a handful of horse forums but most of them were like, "Well I put my friend's stud colt in with my 23 year old mare do you think she's pregnant?" and "My horse is lame and the vet said he tore his tendon. If I put liniment on it can I still barrel race?" :he:gigCOTH is more like "Do you think false ground lines on cross country courses have contributed to the increase of rotational falls and rider fatalities in eventing?" I've learned a ton of medical stuff from browsing the care section, plus it's always nice to be able to troubleshoot if an issue comes up. :)

Oh! How did I forget to add that?! I show hunter/jumper, show jumping, and eventing! And yes I agree very much with that. Yes! I did find the horse I was looking for! I added the longer story in my intro a few posts back..but yes! His name is Cruiser and he's a 15hh dark seal bay morgan gelding, I believe he's my heart horse and can't wait to start competing as a team with him!:D

Good to know! The Horse forum was what I first went on but it seemed like kinda a lazy atmosphere with the questions you stated previously..still "on" there but..ya. Just joined My horse forum as reccommended by Cara (better than rubies) we'll see what it's like.:)

I found a very handsome stallion for sale that I coukd ride and halter show... If I keep him at my friend's she would want me to geld him. Gypsies are expensive, and I'm limiting myself to spending $2000 on my first horse. I don't think the owners would sell him for that little, though. He's a good quality one so... yeah...
