➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

How exciting! Sad to see that #1 is no longer with us. But I cannot help but be overwhelmed with excitement to see those little ones. It's amazing how well colored they already are. Nothing like chicken hatchlings who come out with little color variation in their down feathers.

If only I wasn't already incubating 103 eggs. I just started them on 12/29, so I will not be able to refill the incubator until 1/17 likely. Would be nice to have two gene pools running separately that I could interbreed later on. Oh well. I'll just get a few quail in the future in a trade hopefully, which is what I originally planned to do.
if you were to place the order 1/14 before the guarantee ends....ship time to you 2-3 days....rest time 1-3 days voila incubator clean and ready to go again!! :wee

I knew that somebody would do the math and figure that out... I am very tempted. Time will tell. I think I'll see how candling goes prior to lockdown. If it looks good, I'll stick with what I have. If I think I'm going to have a poor hatch, I'll place an order just before the deadline. I am excited about the potential, but I would need to put together another brooder. On the upside though I would have more quail - more meat in the freezer, eggs in the fridge, and larger potential breeding stock with a greater genetic variety. It really does sound good when I put it that way.

i’m currently limited by the size of my incubator (mainly) other limitation is that I’m currently overcrowded.
my original 6 just started laying and i’m not 100% sure which 2-3 are the ones yet.
my 2 turkeys still need to put on a little more weight
my other chickens are still too young to lay or butcher
and hubby is coming unglued and has said that if i’m going to continue adding, I’m going to have to start doing some of the subtracting!! :lau:oops:

They are soooo little.
So sweet.
They don't even poop yet.
