➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

Really? OK, so what about vitamin water? Is there nowhere to read about newly hatched baby quails not eating?

Kikis concern is that it is So easy to aspirate a small bird. If you give even one drop too much(which is only like 3 total) then it would quickly and easily spill over into the part they breathe through. If hes never eaten then he doesnt know how to take the food and swallow it until they try. In my years experience hatching hundreds of eggs in small batches too often there are chicks who fail to thrive. Its caused by a vast number of issues and usually after the first three days the rest will be stable but it sounds to me like something about that chick didnt develop properly. Im sorry but i think you will loose him and you need to concentrate on the healthy babies.

Yes but I'm thinking it would cost double to do so.

It costs extra to get started with buying the tools, etc. It also costs extra if you buy the pre-cut pieces instead of the rolls of wire. There are also many other sites that sell the supplies and they may or may not be less costly.

Smallest I have tubed are day old pigeons.
A major difference between a baby that needs to be fed (pigeon) and a chick that will naturally feed itself. The pigeon like songbirds will hold its mouth wide open waiting to be fed while the quail would need to have its mouth held open.

plastic totes work great for initial brooders and can be cleaned and repurposed for storage if you aren’t using for brooding! i keep mine beside me in living room and babies stay up to 2 weeks before i have the need to move them to a larger or covered brooder.
Yea, but not for 120 quail... I would need at least 4 totes, probably 6 even...

I like your 4 ft box and the stackable idea jus donno how id incorporate it so am anxious to see what you come up with. I read your shed build last night did u ever finish those quail cages? Its not warm enough and still a garage consideration?
