Yeah, I rewatched it a couple times right after I posted that and realized they played a trick/optical illusion and switched places real fast

Are quail not usually mean? My chickens do this kind of thing to each other all the time. I just figured it was normal pecking order stuff.

None of my quail so far have been mean. None of the ones still alive.
