I have never seen an egg explode before. It looks dead in this picture so I wouldn't take a chance.

I'm sitting here looking at the 6 laid today that all made weight of 12+ grams. I need to run upstairs and weigh the unknowns and pull the lighter ones. They may be 12 days oldish.

Short trip! Welcome to the sanity farm! Would you like a few jumbos? I'm getting 2-6 eggs a days still. Fertility to be determined with the lighting changing... Sets 2 & 3 crow occasionally.

For future information, I did curse myself calling the batch on Monday. Came home to a dead little one. QB#6 still at 29. QB#7 now at 27. Looks like QB#8 will have a full 43 eggs.

I'll miss the hatch a long. These guys will hatch on the 19th. QB#6 butchered a week later. Perfect timing.

Still want to know how I got 2 more whites and a something.

Ahh okay. I wasn’t sure cause at first you said animals not specifically birds.

But I guess if we didn’t limit it to birds we would all have an entire zoo.

If you have acorns they have feed.

We have tons of those!! Although they may have to fight the squirrels and deer for them.

Guineas are plenty big enough but too loud!! LOL ostriches are cool!! Or emus!! Even ducks are a good size. I just didn’t want banty ducks or chickens lol I like like Swedish, Welsh Harlequin, etc.

Blood rings don't always happen.
It may just be rot in there and not a dead embryo.

And their eggs are just as large as the jumbos. Zack mentioned weight at 10 weeks old look for 10 ounces. That means the carcass weight is 6 ounces. Maybe 7. We are in that range, therefore good. I'm content. White girls stay and lay the 13 + gram eggs.

So, when are you deciding on color?
