And their eggs are just as large as the jumbos. Zack mentioned weight at 10 weeks old look for 10 ounces. That means the carcass weight is 6 ounces. Maybe 7. We are in that range, therefore good. I'm content. White girls stay and lay the 13 + gram eggs.

So, when are you deciding on color?

I have it sucks especially if the incubator is in your bedroom

This might be one of the reasons I candle daily...to prevent this from happening.

45 eggs wound up in the incubator. I'll hand turn 3 until day 4 and pull clears. Still haven't modified that rail. If I did that, then more eggs would fit... Danger!

The tote that I use for a brooder is good for about a week and then prodigious poop production passes propriety. Will play musical houses and clean cages this weekend. Again. Oh, the joys of cage mucking.

And stupid timer still isn't cycling the lights.

QB#7 batch called. We have 27 chicks hatched on 9-27
I totaled 110 quail!

QB#8 set on 10-2 with 45 eggs.

mine are currently in a rat cage with the finches!

Hows that working? I saw some finches on CL today and i always did want to do a combined aviary but im on the fence. Plus im not getn anymore pets for awhile jus curious.

fee is the “white feather” gene that is seen in falb fee, pearl-fee (to put it simply)....i haven’t quite figured out the fee in grau-fee yet

I'm sitting here looking at the 6 laid today that all made weight of 12+ grams. I need to run upstairs and weigh the unknowns and pull the lighter ones. They may be 12 days oldish.

Short trip! Welcome to the sanity farm! Would you like a few jumbos? I'm getting 2-6 eggs a days still. Fertility to be determined with the lighting changing... Sets 2 & 3 crow occasionally.

For future information, I did curse myself calling the batch on Monday. Came home to a dead little one. QB#6 still at 29. QB#7 now at 27. Looks like QB#8 will have a full 43 eggs.

I'll miss the hatch a long. These guys will hatch on the 19th. QB#6 butchered a week later. Perfect timing.

Still want to know how I got 2 more whites and a something.

Alrighty ima throw the things ive collected on in there to set w you. Shouldn't pose much of an issue.

Yeah well it was when I first started hatching a long time ago so I had no idea what I was looking for and I walked into my room and there was an awful smell and there was nasty all over the incubator it was bad

It doesn't have a blood ring because it is just a rotten egg.

@mixedUPturk, I've seen such eggs on a couple of occasions. I had one in the incubator the last hatch. Well, it wasn't fertile.
