I could've used that yesterday when Fitz got out. Took me a good two hours to catch the bugger. Also, she's a girl! Could've sworn it was the other way around. I found about a dozen eggs while I was cleaning her pen out.

No, she doesn't have any other birds in her pen.. You set them right?
Do buttons bury their eggs? Was she intentionally hiding them from you? Are you going to play match maker?I could've used that yesterday when Fitz got out. I think they just got scuffed in by accident. The bedding is pretty thick.Do buttons bury their eggs? Was she intentionally hiding them from you? Are you going to play match maker?
The Coturnix will halfheartedly obscure the eggs. One in particular likes to dig in the bedding. Throws bedding into the food, water, and out of the coop. Terribly messy.
Yeah, I constantly have to remove shavings & poop from the Bobs waterer, the way they have to run backwards to poop. Do Coturnix do the back up to poo maneuver as well? I've got #10, #11 & #12 in the bator still & more pips.........just watch your water that it doesn’t wick out and get the shavings wet. looks like first chick is a tux (scarlet or rosetta), you have a couple pansies so far (the little “painted” one is killing me!) red range (eyebrows), pharaoh,
falb fee, and a “yeller”![]()
Yes. They do. I've got poop halfway up the walls to prove it.Yeah, I constantly have to remove shavings & poop from the Bobs waterer, the way they have to run backwards to poop. Do Coturnix do the back up to poo maneuver as well?

The Golden coturnix, are those just a lighter color variety of the wild type pattern?
